Anyone a member? I just got something in the mail from them and what they offer seems to be pretty cool.
Anyone have experience with them?
I got the same thing....
If you Google-Up Motorcycle Riders Club of America you find lots of folks asking the same question!
Generally, the answer is, its pretty much what it says it is.
They say, for $12.00 you get a high quality magazine. (My impression is it's oriented to 'cruisers' but don't know for sure.) They send you free stuff occaisionally. However, at some point you are offered a 'lifetime' membership. I don't know the cost but it seems that the folks with the Lifetime Membership get the 'bette' free stuff.
So...probably no harm/no foul...
I just don't need another magazine. I get Cycle World, Motorcyclist, Sport Rider and Road Racing World as it is...
(Oh,,,and one site I saw looked like it was a database company and were selling the MRCA database...)
"A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”
Muhammad Ali.
Guys, I got this as well.
I'm in the direct marketing (junk mail and mailing list) business. Trust me, that's a scheme designed to harvest information about you. With the freebies they give out and the magazine etc, they are pocketing $10 of your $12 per year and selling your information on to others.
Do what I did, drop it in the nearest waste receptacle.
I needed a new zipper pull, so I snagged the free zipper pull before I tossed it in the circular file

Yes, they are oriented towards the cruiser crowd. The magazine is so-so. They also have this book a month thing that is kind of a pain in the ass. They send you a book, you have to send it back (on your own postage, which winds up being more than they claim it is). I kept one or two books (one on painting). If you don't send it back you have to send them a payment for the book. Like I said, kind of a pain in the ass. Not really worth the time....
I want my damn zipper-pull!!!
