SHADY DEAL in North Andover

So for a couple weeks, this guy named David has wanted to do a trade with me.

His 06 gixxer 1000 with 35xx miles
My 02 SVT Ford Focus.

This guy is a big Ford / Mustang guy, so he wanted my car
I liked the bike, looked real clean, so i was down for the trade.
He emailed me, found my listing, so he was interested more.

So, every time i email him, i'll write a paragraph, and he'll write a sentance in reply. I'll ask 5 questions, he'll only answer one.

He finally calls me from a private number. We talk for a good twenty mins about old projects of ours, i tell him of my once Turbo'd bandit 1200, he tells me of his old turbo'd mustang... Blah Blah Blah.

Both our schedules are busy... We decide on a day / time.
The day comes, i call, no answer. Call, no answer. Email him...
2 days later, he says he got called into work. This email tag goes back and forth for a week and a half. Everytime i ask for a date/time he's free, i'll come down in a heartbeat, he says "How bout today".... at like 3:30pm. It gets dark at 4, and he will only meet during the day... so it doesn't work.

TODAY... he finally CALLS me back. Says his comp was broken? (excuses)
Says,
"Can you come down now?"

Me: "yea, i'm free, i'll head down now"

"Ok, Just make sure you come alone"

me: "Uh... what do you mean?"

"i dont want to deal with the shit of all these people runnin their mouths and crap"

me:" Uh... i was only going to bring down my roommate, that's not ok with you?"

"No, I dont want alot of people here knowing where i live."

me: "Thats pretty shady guy, i need a 2nd man there to help me get the bike home in my truck, you really saying i can't bring him?"

"No, you need to come alone. Are you a kid or something, you can't come alone?"

me: "No, i'm not a kid, that's just really shady, i'm gunna have to call this trade off"

"Ok, bye"

me: "It's too bad~ Bye"

Said he rides two Honda CBR 1000's. One is either an 04 or 05, The other is an 08. He said one of em was wicked tricked out, and the other stock. Didn't remember which one was which.

He's a huge Ford Mustang guy too. Said he had a few of them in his yard

i would never meet someone at my house to look at something i'm selling. i agree his response on the phone sounded sketchy, but i'd feel the same way about not wanting to bring people.

He said he bought the bike off a friend who needed the money, it was a 3rd bike he really didnt need, but he did need something to drive in the winter... Which is why he wanted to trade.
Also said no reg. or insurance on the bike, so he coudlnt' meet me.

David,
I was insulted by you asking me if i was a kid... If we made the trade, i'd need a way to get the bike back here, which is why i'd bring my roommate. Are you intimidated by a second person being there? It was very shady of you to phrase it like "Make sure you come alone". You could have said to not bring alot of people because you dont want the hassle.
You have a few motorcycles, and are fairly close to my location. Do you have any association with Red Line Crew? Figured i'd ask because i am. If me bringing a 2nd person is a deal breaker, i'll wish you luck with your sale.

Why push the matter? I dont want people to know where I live, especially if they know I have toys. But on the other hand, I wouldnt go myself if hes demanding only you. 1 friend certainly isnt anything obscene to ask.

i always bring someone with me, and expect the other person to do the same. and always meet someplace public. its just safe. no reason not to take precautions when you're bringing something you dont want to have taken from you...bike or cash. i always bring my dog too, as he's pretty intimidating (looking).

dood was a total sketchball, i wouldnt even consider doing a trade with that guy.
