    Route 22 in NY

I will be riding to NJ from Westford MA today. I plan to take 119 west into NH and VT, then 9 west to NY 7 and 22 south starting in Hoosick NY and ending in Brewster NY, where I'll pick up slab for the remainder of the ride. Anyone know 22 well? Are there better routes? I'm open to suggestion.

I've ridden 22 a couple of times, it was about 10 years ago but I remember it being an excellent ride.

I can't offer any alternative routes to 22 but I'll say watch your speed. I used to travel that road a lot when I was in school heading home (about 30mins north of Hoosick) and both local and state police love to camp out on that road.

Thanks for the tip. I won't be ripping it up today.

How's route 6 west from Brewster? I may take that over the Hudson River at the Bear Mountain Bridge (instead of the Tappan Zee at rush hour) and then take the Palisades Parkway south to 287 and then the Garden State Parkway south. 6 looks like a potentially fun road on google maps.

22 was decent. Not many curves, but it has a liberal speed limit, light traffic, tons of passing zones, no cops, and beautiful views. Glad I did it. Route 6 was kinda busy, so I slabbed it instead. I'll try 6 on the way home on Thursday.
