so who else here loves it when your driving on the road or highway, and then the car slightly ahead of you switches into your lane nearly hitting you because they didnt see you. seriously though, im not being sarcastic, i almost enjoy this to an extent. obviously i dont want my life to be at a greater risk when riding...but still. im bringing this up because it happened on two different occasions to me just last night. you can almost always see it coming if youre riding safe...i usually just speed around them when theyre switiching into my lane (sometimes an occasional beep) and stare right into theyre eyes as i go bye. i like to think that it makes people more concious of those check twice signs and use more than the rearview when they change lanes
ps. I'd prefer not to be bashed for anything that offends the super-safe, passive riders.

It is a simple fact for motorcycle riders. You just simply are at a greater risk of not being seen on the bike, period.
Adjust your lane position to have the maximum visibility and don't ride in peoples blind spots.
Sometimes passing them before they complete the lane change is your only option of you have someone on your tail....
It's the way it is. It always will be... It's part of the game.

Get on a road bicycle and see how many times you have to dodge the soccer moms in the SUV's. The funny part - you'll already be on the shoulder, and they're coming up from behind you...

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
Lets not start on road bicycles
I do the same thing as you Ghost, I go around them, and just stare at them, a "death" stare. Im a large fan of the "WTF hand toss." It certainly generates a lot of attention.

Work Hard---Play Harder
I agree with Jane...big blind spot area...death stares dont work!
a friend of my father is a hardcore rider. I.e. any weather, hundreds of thousands of miles etc etc. He carries a bag of large ball bearings in his tank bag. A guy was messing with him on the highway. Biker threw the ball bearings behind him. Smashed said man's windshield, dented hood, smashed mirrors.
It worked that time...and the ball bearing thing is something Ive heard about forever. But...the other result could be guy decides to ram said biker anyway out of sheer rage....not out of the realm of possibilities. Or, he loses control due to smashed windshield and takes out other cars, etc. Or, next time he sees a biker, he decides he's going to get him first. Its a tough call, I'll admit. If some cager is fucking with you, what to do? So many scenarios...let him pass if thats the issue, etc. I'm not saying to not retaliate...Ive punched a few mirrors and kicked a few doors myself...its just that ball bearings wont always make an asshole go away...it may make the situ even worse.
That's pretty amazing.
More amazing than the time Michael Jackson came over to your house to use the bathroom.
More amazing than the time you saved those old people from that nursing home fire, right?
Yeah, and I bet it was even more amazing than the time you ate your weight in Papa John's pizza, right?![]()

Give em the stare and hand wave if you want, then move on its not worth them retaliating with a 2 ton weapon.

Speed by at 10k + rpm's. Shake head make appropriate hand signals. Kick door/ side view mirror if absolutely necessary
Why are you sitting in their blind spot?
I think what he was getting at was when you are passing or just going faster in the left lane and people just move over as you are coming up on them or just getting to the blind spot. I am hoping it is safe to say that everyone on here has enough common sence to not be lingering in the blind spot/death zone or whatever you want to call it.
yea im not riding in blind spots, sometimes ill be right next to someone and they can clearly turn their head to see me then 3 seconds later they try to switch lanes and dont look until they are half way there. whether my death stare works or not, i like to think that it makes them think twice about switching lanes so carelessly...as for kicking and throwing stuff....i havent gotten that angry yet, and hopefully i wont

I would just like to say to the guy on the FZ1 this morning on 28, crossing the bridge to Cambridge....
FUCK YOU.
You'll be the first dickhead to complain when someone asspacks you because you're making unsafe, unpredictable lane changes and splitting lanes in one of the busiest parts of town. MORON.
