They seem to have hit dealers and are being delivered to the pre-orders.
Anyone get one? I want a ride report!

For the money that they're asking for it, I would just spend the extra 1-2k and get a 1200gs.
I haven't ridden one, but sat on one at the Montreal Motorcycle Show. Ergonomics were... odd. I didn't like it much. Nothing felt positioned right, and the bike felt quite heavy.
By contrast, the KTM 990 Adventure I sat on felt lighter and ergos were spot on. The R1200GS and GSA I test-rode both felt a lot better in terms of ergos too.

Better off waiting on the 2012 Suzuki V-strom 1000... Or go test ride a Tiger 800XC... I havent seen or read much that would attract anyone to the tenere...
Most expensive bike in its class (gs1200 excluded), ergos for someone with 5' long arms and 2' long legs, and super heavy, even with 120hp...

And sorry, but that 800xc is soulless. Too silky smooth, too refined. If you have one and love it, perfect, but it's not for me. I had high hopes that something along these lines might be my next car, but my cheap ass will probably end up with a used versys when the time comes. If it's gonna suck, it might as well be cheap.

DL 1000 still in Canada
You can still buy a brandy new 2009 DL 1000 in the USA
After reviewing my MC history I am sort of against Yamaha (every one had some major screw up)
These have been in Europe for a year so may be OK
I wouldn't hold yer breath for a revamped DL1000. Seems obvious its going bye bye. I can't fully understand why, but I think it is.
Didn't know they were still on sale in Canada though.
And I didn't see a single '09 DL1000 left on anybody's show room 'round here.

I always figure that you can rectify any ergonomic problems
if I were buying today, my choice would be the Tenere
my #2 choice that would be my #1 choice if they had a better dealer network would be the MotoGuzzi Stelvio

Thought they were all pre-ordered?

I didn't realize that "soul" means "vibrates your teeth out." How much time have you actually spent on one? Because "soulless" is the last word I would use to describe it. I rode a V-Strom 650 for 40,000 miles -- good bike, but definitely soulless. The Tiger has tons of character, including that intoxicating Triumph triple. It may be smooth, but it's certainly not boring.

Not too much time at all. 30 minutes. I really wanted to love it, but it was too smooth. Like I said, if it's the bike for you, then perfect.
