All,
this has been asked before, I have been doing some searching, but our great Mass RMV is a pain in the balls to get info from.
I am looking at rebuilding a salvage bike.
The title says: "Salvage repairable title"
what are the steps needed to be able to register and insure it in MA? what do I need from the seller to be able to do that?
thanks

I believe mass requires the insurance statement totalling it, and everything on that statement replace. Mass law also states you have to use all now parts. So you'll need to buy them from the dealer and bring all of the reciepts with you when you have it inspected by the state police. It's a pain in the balls in mass from what i've been told.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
do ebay receipts work?
when they say everything, do they mean everything down to the blinker? or every as in everything to make it road legal?
Also, do I need to have it inspected in the state that issued the salvage title prior to inspection in MA?
There's gotta be a loop-hole in this complicated process....and I will find it.

You can replace with used parts but you must have a receipt. Its not as hard as people make it out to be, but it is a pain. What kind of bike is it?
There is no loop hole. And I doubt e-bay reciepts will work.
you might think you're going to make out on this but I assure you it isn't worth it.

Yes I have done it. You need a receipt for the parts that shows the sellers information and the VIN for the bike the parts came off of. Then again it is up to the discretion of the Trooper at the inspection station so you could still run into problems. If there was any frame damage at all, forget the idea completely.
You're right. I found some info on it.
