ok so i've had my pc3 in for a while and recently noticed that it doesn't feel as fast as when it was first put in. i suspect that it might be cause friends keep pushing the buttons on the pc3. can someone tell me what those 3 buttons actually does? and what settings your pc3 is on? i have an 05 600rr.
Thanks!
it's broken. toss it this way.

I'm guessing somebody told you that you needed this thing and you bought it for around $300. What they didn't tell you is that it needs a custom map. When I say custom, I don't mean Honda 600RR I mean your bike specifically.
If you really want the extra couple horsepower and the smooth power curve the Power Commander is capable of offering you're going to have to take it to a DYNO and have it professionally mapped. You're probably looking at $100 minimum for a little tweak here and there and closer to what you paid for the original unit to have it done right (others may chime in here, I actually haven't priced a mapping lately). After that, I suggest you keep your seat or rear cowl in place any time your buddies and their medaling fingers are around.
Hey,
Gotta be think skinned around here if you're a newbie.
Tough crowd around here.
Let me email you a custom map that someone gave me.
PM me with your email.
I have an 05 600RR with an Akra slip on.
Its not a true custom map but its a good place to start.
For me its spot on.
What kind of pipe do you have?
Also stop letting your friends push buttons on your

The buttons are used to tune. I think pressing it repeatedly will raise or lower the fuel in 1/3 of the power band (low, med, high) and holding it does the opposite. That said, they could change your fuel from -100% to +100%!!! That could really mess things up! Honestly, I would never use those buttons. I'd just mess with the map on the computer and upload it.

just set them back to zero where ever zero is and you'll back to normal.. think it's in the middle or bottom. each button is for low, mid, high rmp range.

oh... lol. it HAD a custom map (i bought the bike with pc3 and already custom mapped) but i guess people pressing the buttons messed it up lol. someones gonna help me out so it should be ok, thanks guys.
rule 1: don't let people fondle your power commander

lesson learned, and db saved my ass. the bike feels MUCH better
for my PCIII USB I just read the instructions again. It say to tune with the buttons you have to press all 3 within 5 or 10 seconds of turning on the bike, THEN you can press them individually to change the power band fueling. So chances are they never entered said programming mode, I hope.
