Its absolutely disgusting out, I can hardly go outside in shorts in a t-shirt, no less could I imagine being outside in a full suit made of textile/leather with my head covered in a helmet. Is this the kind of weather a wet t-shirt under the jacket helps, or is there really no helping the comfort level in this weather?
Props to you guys, whoever ventures out there.![]()

perforated leathers, lots of fluids, and ride really fast to get a breeze.
I think yesterday it was 95 with 90% humidity...but i still rode. Open the vents and make your own breeze...then drink a gallon of water.

Leather/textile mesh jacket, leather pants, full face HJC, armor gloves, every 140 miles stop for gas and 16/20 oz. of poweraid. Rode approx 350 miles on Sat 11 June, went to Laconia because I had never been there to see "bike week" I got more comments on "how can you ride with all that gear" and "you must be hot" from the "bikers". As long as I could keep the speed above 30-40 everything was ok. Stopping in traffic around Weirs beach was the worst.![]()
I was out all day yesturday at the track, the ride up and back was cool because we kept on the move. The faster you go the cooler you stay!![]()
Putting my leather jacket, helmet and gloves on after baking all day was not easy to do but you have to ride in gear & thats that!!
I would rather bake to death then have to get skin graphs if anything happens..
So next time we see a day like this approaching we should organize a ride to a beach for some swimming!! Oh and posing so Tully will go!

I would have a very hard time riding in that weather. My chest feels tight when it's too hot and I don't breathe as well, I can't even imagine trying to breathe under my helmet. So I don't ride. The only time I'd love to take it out is when the sun goes down, around 7pm is good. I'm too busy to ride anyway so that kind of solve the problem. I jump in the pool instead and it makes me feel lot more cooler afterwards. I CANNOT stand this heat, I want the 70's to come back!
I just hope it won't be that hot on my ride of the 25th....

I did a squidly ride or two this weekend too.....one even on a red R1!! It was the thrill of my weekend!! W00t
I covered about 200 miles in the past 24h in full gear, including back protector...yesterday I rode from Providence to Salem, which was a bit sitcky to say the least.
Today I rode from Salem to Quincy for an outdoor BBQ, then from Quincy to Providence. That half was in the rain as well.
Dehydrated? Put it this way I just beelined to a CVS 3 miles away to get water, gatorade and some ice pops. My truck has a skidloader and trailer hooked up, so yet again on the bike, with jacket, gloves, etc. I type now looking at my AC about 3' away from me, and it's on full blast![]()
I will say that this weather flat out sucks for riding, I dont' care how fast one rides, its the humidity. I'd take 100 and dry versus this rain forest stuff we have now.

i ride in t-shirt and shorts a lot in the summer. keep the speeds down, dont lean like your racing and try to avoid the highway. you can still be safe in t-shirt and shorts. even without a helmet, just keep your distance to all cars and anticipate evry car pulling out and youll be fine. it sounds harder than it is. ive had a few spills and theyve all been because i was going outside my limits, when i stay within my limits i feel extremely safe. warm weather is the best time to ride, thats when the girls in the bikinis want to ride!!

If you hadn't figured it out yet, most of the riders on this forum are into riding safely, so I doubt there will be too many people who share your views on riding with no helmet, shorts, and a t-shirt![]()
yesterday was mad hot... no way leathers would work, so i put on my mesh jacket and gloves and then a pair of jeans... with my dirtbike pads underneath... may sound silly... but its pretty comfy... and i *think* it would help in the event that the worst should happen.

I've worked in a few kitchens before college, so I can deal pretty well with the heat.
I did a few short rides this weekend in full Dainese leather and riding boots and gloves and my bling helmet. I was sweating, but I felt fine the whole time. I couldn't believe how many people were riding this weekend without any gear.
Its gonna suck if you go down wearing shorts and a t shirt with no helmet, I promise you.
Well, in that case, you might as well get a Oldsmobile. If I'm on my bike, I wanna do my (bad) version of the Rossi thing and GO!!!!! IMHO, going slow and upright on a sportbike is like sugarless gummi bears (whats the point?)Originally posted by bara954

i took a short ride yesterday. helmet -black, mesh jacket-black, overpants-black, gloves-black, bike-very blacki was fine for the most part. the funnest thing was the looks i got from all the other riders. they all did a double take when the rolling sun magnet went by.
