Here are the pics I took on June 2nd at NHIS. It was really cool meeting all you guys. Enjoy and take your time there are over 440 pics taken with a Canon digital rebel 70-300mm lens. This is my first time taking action shots so be kind. http://photobucket.com/albums/v206/j...louden_060205/

Those pics are great! I wish I had gone! Someday I'll be in pics like that. How do I get into that?
not bad at all for a first timer with action shots...that camera does most of the work
now I need to find me some tabloid size photo quality paper and put these 10k dollar xerox 7750gx printers here at work to some good use - any ideas where to find some big photo paper for laser color lol...never tried such a big color print before...well quality wise anyways

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Where did you hear that subjects are supposed to be centered?Originally posted by jjs777

I think they look great. The subject is one one of the 1/3 dividing lines in many which allows good nose room. Part of what I don't like about the way John Owen's photos are that they are quite tight and you see little other than the rider. Its an opinion thing wether you like it or not, I just don't happen to.
Thanks for posting those pictures![]()
It generally helps if the subject is centered to achieve best focal quality. Otherwise the shot is often auto focusing on something other than the centered subject. Unless the focal point was set manually which I suspect it was not.Where did you hear that subjects are supposed to be centered?
But I agree...some of the lead in shots and off center adds to the pics...except for those with just a fork tube in the shot! lol j/k rene

Thanks guys for all the support. I had just as much fun on the side lines as you guys had on the track. All I have to say is the next time Oil Can John goes out he better leave the Exxon Valdez at home.![]()
