I think it depends entirely on the sympathies of the responding police officer.
EVERY day (sometimes more than that) I see people driving like assholes.
Some are intentionally being offensive in that they know full well they are cutting someone off, some are doing things that insure that they are unable to pay attention (like texting or reading a newspaper) and some are just incompetent.
I am suprised that I do not see more road rage incidents in New England.
I know that there are times when I seriously weigh the consequences of smashing my car into the backend of the jackwad driving that pickup truck that just cut me off...
or what the chances of the girl freaking out and smashing into a telephone pole when I reach into her window, rip the phone that she's texting on out of her hands and smash it on the pavement.

If anyone is interested in reading more about the this, please recap it here. I don't have the patience to read through 45 pages of this post on the board back home.

You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style
so what do 2 wrongs make?
does the PU guy ahve a gun or just crowbar? two guys can't take 1 with browbar out? keep the helmet on and go. dont beleive the kungfu.
"fuckit!"
i lived in KY for 2 yrs and the roads there are to die for, not by a truck tho. those rednecks can drive those trucks all day and pull from bikes and the bikes do cause a lot of trouble there due to the awesome roads. it is a 50 50. drive like an ass and i am sure an another ass will run you off the road. they should have all just gave them each the bird and moved on. that video is putting all three at risks...
I definetely dont plan on visiting KY anytime soon..
It's not Kentucky's fault, there are crazy asshats everywhere.
I have spent a lot of time turning spirited miles in some of the most "backwoods/backwards" parts of Appalachia and the South and never heard a word more aggressive than, "what part of Canada is New Hampshire in?"

i think your supposed to pull over when an ambulance is behind you..maybe that was the problem?
The two guys I was and I with are all adults and generally play nice. This guy just plain went off of the rails.
The three of us were leaving a small town, heading up into the hills, and saw him pulling out of a fire station (lights on) on a side road, and pulled over for him while he was at least 1/8 mile back (below a couple of switchbacks). No problem. Took a couple of pictures, went on our way.
Couple of miles later, we're on the only straight section of this road, and he's pulled over, still with lights on. Slow up (I think it was a 45, we went by at about 20, wondering what's up). The guy GUNS it out between my two friends, throwing dirt, siren on, pushing me out int the opposite lane (I was in the middle); I brake to get behind him; as I don't want to play this game, he stops and opens the door. I'm OUTTA there. Pretty twisty section of road comes up so I ease up to about 65. Still shaking. 2-3 turns later the guy is up my ass, siren, lights, horn. All I could hear was that horn. Again, I pin it, and it took a while to break free of the guy.
Keep in mind, we're 100 miles from Bakersfield (already in the middle of nowhere), in the mountains, on a Wednesday in early June. There was no one on these roads besides us, a few other bikes, and this ambulance. Before this happened, we weren't even over the speed limits (when they say 45 out there, they mean it).
Some people are just tweaked.

I'd say the most insane are the cabbies coming out of Logan at 5 am and heading through Chelsea/Everett on the way out to 99 - borderline psychotic-homicidal maniacs behind the wheel.
I've had 3 near head-ons in the last 6 months with these idiots. They drive as if there are no traffic laws whatsoever, it's a friggin free-for-all like its a race to the drawbridge some mornings.
Once I get a GoPro I'll shoot some and post - you'd have to believe it to see it

"The pickup driver was arrested for reckless driving, DUI and the DA is using the video to consider reckless endangerment and possibly attempted murder charges. If convicted of all charges the pickup driver could get up to 24 years in jail."
Someone posted this on another forum. Looks like the guy may be getting what he deserves for his reckless actions.
