Sorry for another dam tire thread.
Whats the word on the Pilot Road 2's? I've seen a little about them online, and have even read that they are basically Pilot Road centers with Pilot Power sides? Is that true or more fun internet mis-information.
Sounds like even if not, they couuld be the best of both worlds...
Just curious if anyone knew anything about them. Seems they are still pretty new to the market.
There's a big thread on this that started a few weeks back. Check it.

Yeah, I usually search before I ask, but I found nothing about the Road 2's. A few threads about the roads themselves exist as well.
Thanks Chris, I didn't realize they were not due around here till september. If indeed they have a harder center, yet still "pilot power-ish" in the sides walls (as they are multiple compound tires) they sound like the perfect tire. Great wear, with more grip then most of us need.Sport-touring tire, due here in September.
Just got back from the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia on a new set or Powers. They held up pretty dam well considering some of the long striaight roads (not just highways are arrow straight and boring out there). The tires have plenty left in them, I just saw the Road 2's in a forum and it peaked my curiosity. They sound like they would have been perfect for the trip.
Cool. Get any pics? I've got to get out there someday.

Yeah, I've got a bunch. Hopefully tonight I can get some posted up.
The Pilot Road 2 will probably be here late July / early August.
We have been told that the standard Pilot Road will still stay in production alongside the PR2, but that doesn't make much sense to us.
The PR2 is available in all PR sizes EXCEPT for the 110/80ZR19 front for the big trailies. We assume because that size was not a big seller for Michelin.
