Anyone on here good with or know someone who is good with touching up rashed plastics. just found a new nose for my Silver 07 ZX6R but when it arrived last night it has a small patch, little bigger than a quarter, on the right corner. the seller failed to mention this and claims he hadnt seen it. anyway i got the rashed plastic sanded out smooth but dunno that i trust myself enough to repaint the area. anyone out there up to the task?! obviously tryin to get out of it as cheap as possible.

color-rite.com get the correct color rattle can and go at it. If you fuck up sand and start over. Might as well get used to sanding and rattle canning plastics, you're going to race aren't you?
my concern is screwing up the rest of the paint around it. the whole rest of the nose is fine.
Dunno what i should use for a clear coat if its needed etc the whole touch up/matching process is foreign to me. i can paint from scratch alright tho...

color-rite , spray it, lightly feather it back, wet sand starting at 1000 then 1500 then 1800 and buff. Silver especially is hard to blend. It's really a whole re-paint to look spot on.
Re-paint the whole thing.
The problem with trying to fix it with paint in my limited experience is that a quarter turns into a half dollar then a baseball etc.. when doing it correctly, my vote is put a sticker on it and ride more worry less.
said F-it broke down and ordered the color and clear coat aerosols from colorrite but F-me $15 for s&h?! seems a bit steep. oh well $63 later and the paint is on its way... so if i am correct dont wetsand the final coat before the clear goes on and just buff the clear, no wetsanding, correct?

Next time use some fine liquid polishing compound on the rash and then wax it, you'll be amazed how much will disappear without having to paint at all.

+1 for stickers, that's what they are for.
