Let me start by saying that I know this is a HUGE favor to ask. But I thought I would give it a try anyway. I'm not really expecting much.


The short story: I need to borrow a track bike, for an very experienced street rider to use at Thunderbolt in NJ on Sept 8th.


The longer story: My partner at the delaership is doing his first track day with me on Sept 8th in NJ. He is super nervous about bringing his GSX-R1000 (I think it's got more money into it than mine does). He is a very experienced rider and very trust worthy. I can whole heartedly vouch for him. Suzuki or Yamaha is prefered (since we are a Suzuki and Yamaha dealer, and in the worst case, can easily replace anything that could break), but beggars can't be choosers. Obvious rules apply: it comes back in exactly the same, or better condition than it left in...


Sooooo... If anyone has such a machine that they would be willing to lend... let me know.

Well...good luck...gotta say though, he's willing to take a chance of tossing someone elses bike down the road but not his own??? You own a shop? Strip off the expensive shit and ride your own ride dude.

If he didn't have a bike I would be more sympathetic...but then, as your tag line indicates, I'm probably part of the 'constant' at least some of the time!!!

Take a used bike off the floor Put some race rubber on it and ride it.

If he bins it part it out and he can pay whats left (wholesale)

I suggest you just take him out to a parking lot first and let him try your trackbike to see if he likes it.

His streetbike, like mine, is full of un-replaceable items (like a 1 of 10 Harris single sided swing arm). I don't expect him to crash, but the risk is too high...
