So I recently got a ticket. April 2011 for 45 in a 35 on a Ducati.
The officer asked me when the last time I got a ticket was.
I said 2002, which was true.
That same 2002 ticket was continued and finally surcharged in 2004 after I just finally gave up and lost my battle with the incompetent city of Boston's appeals board.
Now, can the officer see that I was also pulled over and issued a written warning (no fine and no surcharge) for speeding 10 over in 2008?
What can the courts see if I appeal?
How far back can they go?
How can I see what my record looks like?
Any LEO or court or registry person on this forum that can get me a copy of my record that the court would see?
you can go to the dmv website and request a driving record. It was free or $2 or something. I had to do it for my new job
I had a back round check by the state... I had 10+ tickets when I was 16-20.. The check only showed the last one I received about 4 years ago...
The 08 ticket you have will probably show up the 04 I am not sure... From my experience.
Check what tickets are on the back of your policy... That is probably what they will see.

They will see your entire history back to the day you were licensed when they look it up on the computer in the car. I am not sure if they see written warnings or other incidents that you were pulled over for. If you were cited however rest assured that they can see it. (don't ask me how I know)
I'd love to know if they can see warnings, especially while I'm sitting on the side of the road praying they can't.

I've always been told that they can see every time that your plate is run, regardless of whether you were issued a warning - or even if you weren't pulled over.
However, I also thought that they couldn't see tickets that were more than a few years old.

I don't know what police and judges see. I can only attest to the DMV's computers but they show everything! I sent in a ticket once to fight and they said I never did and sent me a letter to pay. So I had to go to the DMV in Worcester to ask for an appeal date for the ticket.
So when they were going through the computer to find which ticket they were showing me the screen. It had every ticket/warning I have ever gotten ever. They even made a little fun of me cause there was 5 pages of them they had to scroll through. Almost all of these tickets I was found not responsible in court but they were still in the system. My guess would be police and judges see the DMV's database for violations.
According to sister in laws brother who is a LEO he can see "past tickets, no warnings, criminal history, suspensions etc."
When asked about written warnings he replied that they stayed in "house files" and he isn't sure what if anything the registry does with them.
He may have left somethings out but that is about what I remember being shown on the side of the road one time by an officer. Maybe we can ask BigShel to comment.
Are we playing mine is bigger than yours? I went to pick up mine in NH and they told me it was too long for them to print while I waited so it had to be mailed to me. I received 27 pages. There were at least 3 violations per page. Even my lawyer was shocked. This was over 10 years ago. I was looking at jail time for 3 Driving without a license offenses. I ended up paying $100 and getting my license back because only one cop showed. The other two didn't show up. Since then I have got maybe 3 tickets well spaced out.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
When I went to appeal a ticket in boston (a few years back), the magistrate had my record sitting in front of him and was just flipping through it. Did not help my case. He was bringing up citations that were from years back, too. Most of them were dismissed, but were still on my record. No way to expunge (sp?) your driving record either. I looked into it.

Is this all officers can see? I had my license transfered from NY and I had at least 4 or 5 points for speeding from NY. None of these show up on my driving record here.
I also received a warning from an officer in Quincy, not sure if he said it would go on my record or not.
Did my warning not get posted, and did my points not get transferred or are they just not showing for some reason?![]()

I'm curious how reciprocity plays into all this. For example, Vermont doesn't reciprocate with any other states -- or at least they don't transfer out-of-state points to Vermont licenses -- so I wonder if the out-of-state tickets I've received would show up on my Vermont driving record. I've only ever received two tickets in Vermont, but a number of them in New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

I apologize for the length of this I'll try and make it short.
I got pulled over on 495 N in Nov. 2007. I called up the RMV in Dec. 2007 to pay the fine because I was moving to Florida for work. I talked to 4 different people at the RMV and everyone there told me that they had no record of the ticket. I asked them 3 times and even gave them the ticket number, Still with them finding no record. Two days later I went to the RMV they told me to go to the Lawrence court. I went there and showed them the ticket they told me the same thing and wouldnt even take any money, So I moved to Fla. Came back in 2009 drove around all of 2009 and half of 2010 getting pulled over twice in that time.( with nothing about my ticket from 2007 being brought up ) Went to renew my licences for 2011 in NH and they told me I had a suspension in mass from 2007. Well to make a long story short I had to pay $650 to the F'ed up state of mass for their mistake.
So the moral of the story in the state of Mass KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON YOUR DRIVING RECORD and dont ever take for granted what the police, RMV or court TELL you have it in WRITING
