opninions on motorcycle caddy?

    opninions on motorcycle caddy?

seems to be a good idea in theory because I won't need a trailer, but aside from the cost are there any cons on this motorcycle transport?

anyone have any experience with it?

I'd be scared that the bike would jump around on turns\

Id trust that a whole lot less than those rail ones where at least both tires are off the ground.

The main concern I see, your countershaft will be spinning but the oil pump won't be. Moving parts that at best might get some ocasional splash lubrication won't be happy for very long. Plus, just think of the fun that'd occur if a rock kicked up and hit the shifter...

yea after i posted i was thinkin that it'd be iffy having the engine spinning the whole time, even on car dollys you have to disengage the driveshaft.

+1 on what doc posted, theres a number of people at the track that use them.

well I'd be towing with either a mazda mpv minivan or a honda civic (which I'm not even sure I can get a class III/IV hitch for), so I'm not sure the rear suspension would be too happy about 4-600lbs; thanks for the offer though

I don't know, seems like there are a lot of things that could go wrong with that setup.

As others have said, there are cheaper/safer means of transporting a bike.

BINGO. The tranny is spinning, but all the oil is in the pan. Does not sound good to me at all.

I'd invest in a Harbor Freight trailer, unless you happen to own a van or truck.

    Re: opninions on motorcycle caddy?

Those haulers like Doc posted aren't great. They put too much load on the suspension. I have one I built for a dirt bike. It sagged the rear of my Cherokee too much I thought. Might work ok on a full size rig with more clearance and heavier suspension. I'll give it away it someone wants it...
