I put a little over 200 miles on the R1 today and started to notice the shifting getting a bit notchy at the end of the dayBy the time i got home i realized the clutch wasn't disenguaging properly and i actually had to blip the throttle with the clutch pulled in for it to disenguage? I gave it a oil and filter change when i got home but it made no difference
450 miles on the clock and it's gotta go back to the dealer

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
So it sounds like by removing your clutch plates and soaking them in oil for a day will do the trick.............
You gonna give a shot Mark??![]()

No, not touching the bike, thats what a warranty is forI dropped it off at the dealer today after work.
I checked the R1-forum last night, there are a few half assed fixxes listed, i guess i'll just wait and see what the dealer says tomorrow
Yamaha
wow that sucks. I guess they wanted to increase the power so much to pass the gixxer that thay slacked on the other stuff

Yeah I understand justletting the dealer have at it, But do you know what there plan is??
To me the "oil soak" for the clutch plates just makes sense......
I also thought that when you replace clutch plates your suppose to soak the fiber plates in oil before install anyway, Just like soaking "Lifters" when building a car motorI also believe that only a small portion of the clutch pack "are submerge in oil"

Not sure what their plan is, the tech rode the bike and confirmed what i was talking about, now it's up to Yamaha to tell them what to do to fix it.
Yamaha
they're telling me the clutch was assembled with assembly lube rather than oil and the lube is causing the plates to stick together![]()
