My friend and Brother "Doc" and his wife Karen were in an accident last night. He didn't negotiate a curve exiting Rte. 7 in Kentucky. They are from Ohio, and were visiting a friend in Kentucky...both went off the bike...Karen didn't make it. Doc has neck, back and rib injuries. We are all devastated. Doc and Karen were made for each other. They met later in life and finally found in each other their true love. Karen was such a sweetheart. He, Karen, me and a bunch of others who all met and got to know each other through a biker site became good friends and got together for a meet and greet in 2006 at the Gettysburg home of a mutual friend from the site. Great memories. Doc is a Vietnam vet and got his nickname as a combat medic. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers...
Very very sorry to hear man...RIP to his wife and a hopeful speedy recovery to him.
OMG, so sorry to hear about this. My condolences to your good friends.
I did find this article and the troopers seem to think alcohol was a factor.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
I'm very sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those involved.
May you, your friend and all they touched find comfort in whatever belief you hold close...my heart goes out to 'Doc'. His road is, by far, the toughest of all.

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully Doc will pull through.
I appreciate all the heartfelt words. Be assured that I will mention this to Doc when I speak to him. We who ride are all one and the same when the chips are down, and I know he will appreciate your words. I'll be calling him sometime in the next 24 hours. He needs to get back home, and God only knows what he will go through when he walks back into their home, without Karen. I don't even want to think about the desolation which now resides in his heart and soul. I just spoke to a buddy of his who lives nearby him. The first words from Doc were "Gene, I killed my wife." Unbearable words. Self-imposed guilt, no matter how undeserved, will be at his side, and it is my hope that all of us who know he and Karen will be able to do what we can to keep those feelings at bay, to soften and dispel them over time. Doc is a great guy. Easy going, soft spoken and a very talented musician in his own right. Karen was/is a warm, funny, engaging person who shot from the hip and called 'em as she saw 'em. You'd like her. I have some pics from the 2006 meeting, and I'll post up later. Thanks again.....
looking fwd to see the pix
