I got bit by that one too, the hook was set on the LD riders list, a link to the main site was posted, when I went there browsing, I saw a "legislation" link and I only looked at it briefly cauyse I was heading out of the office for the afternoon, I quickly posted the link in several places and didn't realize it was a hoax till I got back to my office 5 hours later, the whole time I was steaming and pissed off as hell, thinkin about what I was going to write to my congressman & senators to defeat the damn bill.

the only april 1 prank that I can think of that even comes close wasseveral years ago, a local newspaper reporter wrote an article about how the State of Nh was going to make a park out of Mount Major, in Alton, NH by blasting off the top 500 feet, he called it the Mt Minor project, although I didn't fall for that one, thousands of locals did and the reporter caught hell from state officials from the governor on down.

Then theres the joke on Dover, NH's mayor this year when someone put an ad in Uncle Henry's "Free sheep, owner thinning out herd" with the mayor's home phone
