SMX-R's or TCX Compitizione-S?

So I am finally getting some boots and I was all set to buy the A* SMX-R's ($300) and when I went to Sportbiketrackgear and they are having a closeout on the TCX Compitizione-S boots ($190 - marked down from $350) AND NOW I AM SECOND GUESSING MY CHOICE

I wanted to see if you guys think one is better than the other? (in relation to how I'm going to be riding with them)

I watched the video review on both of them and it looks like the TCX is more of a middle of the road race boot because it has a torsion control system and the A*'s are entry level race/ to high end road boot, has a better walking feel to it and still offers more protection than the smx-5's but not as much as the smx-plus were it looks like the TCX's are up to the smx-plus level of protection?

do you think the TCX's are going to be uncomfortable compared to the A*'s? does the tortion control on these boots make it tough to ride comfortably on the street since I plan on riding the street mostly but also plan on doing a track day or two by the end of the season...

I should have added I have a wide foot... I know the A*'s will fit not so sure of the TCX's though.

Are TCX's narrow in the toe box like Sidi's?

FWIW I tried both the A* SMX-Plus and the TCX RS (i think both 1 step up from the models you're looking at) and ending up going with the TCX. Both are definitely good boots but I thought the TCX was a better value and fit a slight bit better for me. I was looking at both of these because i wanted a little wider boot than my Sidis. Both the A* and TCX were wider and seemed about the same. The TCX instep was a little more snug (better) for me.

Hmmm good to know, I on the other hand have a large instep so maybe the TCX's will be too tight in the area?

BTW... where did you try them on? Or does anybody know of any places that sell TCX boots that I can try them on?
other than the track that is... I should have tried those TCX's last weekend when I saw them up there at the vendor that did the shitty job plugging jackies tire. When's the next race weeknd?

I have the SVX and love them. Very comfortable. Can't speak for the TCX though.
