Hey Mike, how ya doin?
I just joined up here and was wondering if i could promote a track day at Virginia International Raceway that's being organized by a new group - New England Track Riders (www.netrackriders.com) The group is mainly composed of members of www.nestreetriders.com and we're trying to get some more people to go to this since the guy running the show is already 10 grand in the hole.
here's the flier for the event - http://www.cornerspeed.net/pdf%20files/NEflyer05%20.pdf
Lemme know if it's cool to post it up. Thanks :thumb:i suppose i shouldn't have gone on about NESR & NETR, eh?sportbikes wrote on 02-15-2005 02:14 AM:
I would love to help... but I do have some concerns. We run this site with all funds coming from 2 private investors. The goal is to give back to the sportbike community. My problem is that the events are all promoting seperate forums that do nothing for us as sportbikers, but fragment the market, hence diluting the power of sportbikers.
If you can show us how we can benefit, I would be happy to help. Benefits could be promotion of our site, and if you are not willing for that... then it comes down to dollars and cents.
Let me know.
Mikebut how's that for helpful? what do you guys suggest i retort that with? i was thinkin somethin like this:
"Mike
Thank you so much for doing nothing to help the sportbike community promote a 100% non-profit trackday that's being offered TO the entire sportbike community BY the sportbike community. This track day is also being FUNDED by the sportbike community, which is currently 10 grand IN THE HOLE. Your lack of support and the fact that you intend to PROFIT by PRETENDING to help the sportbike community at the sportbike community's expense is noted by the sportbike community.
die in a fire
- the sportbike community"
i dunno... i'm in a pissy mood
suggestions for reply are welcome, as i haven't said anything back yet. and if i do, it won't be anything like that... it'd be more like this
"Perhaps i should have chosen my words a little better.... NETR and NESR are 100% non-profit groups who's pure intention is to get the word out about events like this. we still need to come up w/ 20 more people to go so the cost of our track event doesn't DOUBLE to 1100 dollars per person. All i wanted to do was let people know on your website that this event is available to them. it's up to them whether or not they would like to go."
or somethin![]()

Dear Mike -
This event, and the other events held by Cornerspeed and NETR, contribute greatly to the sportbike community by sharpening the skills the many riders who attend them. Because of these events, thousands of sportbikers each year are able to push the limits of their bikes in a safe environment, and thus become better, safer riders on the street,
Oh yes, and I fucked your sister last night. She wanted to have a threesome with you mom, but your mom has a bit of a cottage cheese ass, so I just used her for a cum dumpster.
Thanks,
Sneaky Pete.
dunno..that doesnt seem that unreasonable..
He may just not understand what you are tryin got do and that was a generic message..
I'd tell him ..well if trackdays do not promote the sprotbike community ai dont know what does...
And I'd(you) would be more then happy to mention your site when I go post about this event stating that you guys are supporting us....etc etc![]()
You should have just started a thread and linked to the sign up page! People do that here and on other sites.
Jamie
here's another thought... take his own words & twist em again...
Dear Mike,
The remaining 20 spots on this track day is currently being funded by ONE private investor, who is trying to promote the sportbike community by making available yet another organization that will strengthen our power. If there were only one forum available for the sportbike community it would be chaos. way too much, way too often, all at the same time. It would be overload & nothing would happen. This is why one world government would never work. Fragment the market for it's own good.
but that's besides the point...
the point is, NETR and NESR are 100% non-profit groups just like you, who's pure intention is to get the word out about events like this and promote a positive image of the sportbike community. Because our single private investor still needs to come up with $10,000 we still need to come up w/ 20 more people to go so the cost of our track event doesn't DOUBLE to 1100 dollars per person. this track day is available for whoever wants to attend and better their skills as a rider. if people choose to attend from your forum they are welcome to promote your site as much as they'd like.
how's that???

Mike, NETR is supporting sprotbike riders by haveing a track day that is, as it stands, unreal from a cost point of view. At $550 dollars fro a 2 day track day, with hotel stay you might agree with me. If anyone from you site attends and would like to promote you site that is an option that is open, if not then thank for for responding.
What forum is it?
I might be able to throw some incentives their way based on signups from their forums.
By the way, he isn't being THAT unreasonable. We (the owners of Nestreetriders) get an incentive from tonystrackdays for promoting his trackdays. It's no secret.

I will give them one free two-day trackday pass for each 10 people who sign up stating that they came from their website. You wanna reply to him?

I thought my suggestion was perfectly reasonable. All of you other people are being totally irrational.
I'm not even sure what cha mean by that, but ya know... i AM a member of their forumOriginally posted by Degsy

oh, i get it now.... for a minute i thought you meant for each of the 10 people that sign up, they all get a free 2-day track day... riiiight
and i prefer Chris' response more, too.... i'm tired of everyone lookin for a little piece of the pie. in the long run it doesn't really help the community as a whole at all...but i'll let him know

What I mean is this:
If I get 10 people from their site who sign up as a result of the advertising on their site, I will give the site owners one free pass to do with as they please. They can use it themselves or raffle it or award it to someone on the site etc.

WHAT A FUCKIN COCK SMOKER
how the FUCK is that making him work for free??? he doesn't have to do SHIT, just allow me to say "hey guys, look - a track day" what a faggotsportbikes wrote on 02-17-2005 02:03 PM:
See that deal is telling me he wants me to work for free... go call Roadracing world with that deal and see if they take it.
I'm sorry, but we have fixed costs that we have to recover and I can not control what my readers do. Advertising has its costs.
FYI, I have worked with most other trackdays that outright give a free day to the site... of which I run a contest for, but obviously he does not know how strong the site is. SportbikeS.com (the whole site) is the highest trafficked website for sportbikes on the net as independently rated by Alexa.
Thanks anyways.

He's just a forum nazi who is counting on being a bigshot in his forum to help him move up in the world.
It's always good to be the king of the world's smallest kingdom!

He's an idiot.
I just might go over there and start a thread every 30 minutes promoting my trackday. That will generate so much attention that the publicity will be worth more than just a single thread.

Dammit...some bastard already has the name highsider over there.
My first post is gonna be "Mike's Mom is a Cum Dumpster"![]()
Heh heh heh, not worth it.
Their trackday forum has a total of 9 posts for the month of February so far. That is crap traffic.
As far as I can see, their site is all about show and nothing about go.
I'm sure thay have plenty of marketing deals......with neon light and mirrored windshield retailers.
They would NEVER get 10 of their members to sign up. No wonder he wants a free trackday in advance.
I might just go over there and tell him he has no clue.
