And for once, the cop was cool as hell. I took a friend of mine through some of the twisties around here on another friend's R6. Since he had never been down 116 before I stopped at the beginning of it and told him that we're gonna keep a sane, slower pace through the whole thing, and we can hit it harder next time. So we get through 1 town and I look back to see how he's doing and we're getting lit up!
I pull over, get off, go to get my registration out, and remember it's sitting on my dresser with a rejection sticker clipped to it.
My buddy doesn't even have his license with him because he forgot his wallet. Neither bike has a valid inspection sticker on it. My buddy can't even figure out how to unlock the passenger seat to get to the registration.
The cop approaches with a huge smile on his face! "First off, I just want to thank you guys for actually pulling over. I had a guy come around this corner earlier at 95 in a 30. I couldnt even make the color of the bike out."
Then he asks if we have our licenses on us, I give him mine, he gets info from my friend. Checks to see if the bikes are stolen. Mentions but doesn't give us hell about the missing & expired ins. stickers. Tells us we were going 55 in a 40, and "take it easy for the next couple of miles while you are still in my town". Then he tells us to have a nice day.
Apparently he recently bought a Honda Shadow. Seeing as he is a fellow rider probably had a hell of a lot to do with it.![]()

That's awesome.
I was once pulled over by a statie for poor rear visibility. At the time I had a custom bobber subframe on my SV, with one LED strip for rear lighting. He was really cool about the numerous illegal things on the bike, and let me go after we had a chat. Turns out he is a rider too.
The coolest Cops are the ones that don't pull you over at all.
I found that if you stop most of the time the cops are happy about it and tend to give breaks. I had a guy thank me for stopping once and although he still gave me a ticket he reduced to speed on it and then told me to appeal it and I would be ok. I appealed it and the ticket got tossed out. Running doesnt solve anything.
Kham ... where are you?

uhmm.. once i rearended a cop in my car.. he just laughed at me... now thats a cool cop
I'm glad you ran into such a nice cop. The staties in my town aren't as nice and I don't know why I haven't been pulled over yet with as fast as I go down route 2 sometimes. I don't even realize how fast I'm going most of the time until I look down and realize "woah, I need to slow down a bit". I've gotten so used to my bike it doesn't feel like i'm going that fast at all![]()
After my leetle test ride on a R1 last fall, I have decided that I will stick with
my little six-fiddy for that exact reason. I keep trying to find seventh gear
on my bike and if I try to do that with any liter bike, when I do get caught,
it won't be pretty. Those things do a ton like a hot knife going thru butter.
It is just too easy.
I'm assuming the town you were in was Conway; any idea what the officer's name was? My boss' father or father-in-law is a police chief up there, and has told my boss before that he's thankful for guys that pull over. He's said before that if a bike runs on 116, the local cops have almost no chance of catching them unless they call some staties in to do a roadblock![]()
Supa Motarded! If you see me backin it in, keep watching...Im about to crash

Almost everytime ... I get the same result also.
I stop as fast as I can when I see the blues.
I don't lie to him, I am very polite, call him sir and I have gotten one ticket in over 15 stops.
My attitude is very respectful and most of the time I get verbal or written warnings.
I am 6-2 ... weigh 225 pounds and have a hairy face ... don't look like no she-male.
Methinks you are the one that looks like you want it in the butt ...
and the cop is more than happy to oblige you!![]()

Just wait until you guys start going gray, the cops are always surprised when I take my helmet off - I am always humbly apologetic. no tickets in 10 years
