It takes work and commitment. I have a DR650, a Ninja 250, and a KDX200. I ride the KDX the most, mostly because I love dirt riding. The big DR and the Ninja get a 50/50 split of my street time. Between the 3, the KDX easily gets the most maintenance attention. The other 2 get 1 oil change a year, and they both are well past due for battery replacement (but they still start right up). The Ninjette got new tires a few weeks ago. The 12 year old stock tires just wouldn't cut it anymore.
Why do you want a "track use only" bike? The 600 could fill that role nicely and you can also ride it on the street.
Are you going to race? Or are you afraid to crash your nice bike on the track? You could get a CHEAP EX500 (or a Hawk)...
I have 7 bikes if you count the YSR (street legal toy), Pocketbike (toy) and Mini motard (pitbike and mini track racer)
My CRF450x is my track motard/ Hooligan streetbike and dirt bike (just swap the rims for a different ride)
My Hawk is my racebike (but I could street it rather easily)
The 748 is my eye candy and Trackday bike (I could also street it)
My S2R1000 is all street but I WILL put it on the track.
Get another bike that will fill a knew role.

I've got 8 , 4 of them overseas .
It's a disease but I love it
eat me
Learned the old lady (cough she is younger uhhh) to ride the other one. Makes for better solo riding all the time. I just ride the 650 once in a while for kicks since I gave up on being a wannabe racer (sold the suit and boots). Hard to go sportbike when u are used to more comfort. But I wont sell the second bike till I have to. If you got the money keep it and use it. Buy another one if you can afford it!

Well... My old man (who is 12yrs older) already rides... Harley guy ... Though he had a Ducati before he wrecked it doing 90 on an off ramp up on 89...
Guess the message I'm getting is to keep the bike and enjoy em both
I think the problem comes from fact they are so similar.
I feel better alreadythanks NESR!

If you ain't first......you're last!
It's a sickness, disease, fetish...whatever you want to call it. Having 2 or 3 sportbikes..may not really have a purpose, but a sportbike, motard, dirtbike, sport atv and MX atv...well that keeps thing interesting. Yes, there's weekends I'll ride each of them
I'm guilty of having thoughts to adding an R6 to the stable that matches my R1![]()

If you keep the 600 another couple minutes it will depreciate enough to justify not being worth selling. I think I used that logic plus that I wanted one bike to NOT ride all winter and in the rain that I could keep nice, add stuff like a single sided swingarm and a new front end, etc. So far it works. Then theres the race bike, rain race bike, traveling race bike. See, there are plenty of excuses, just try it, put a little effort into it. Don't put yourself down, you're a tremendous slouch.
I just went frm one bike to three.
I have my rc51 for me, then I bought two dualsports for me and my girl to ride, she is gonna learn on the 225 and get her license on it, and I can be a hooligan on the ATK. I think Ill ride them all plenty. uyou just have to want to ride. Variety is the spice of life.
I've got this same dilemma. Have a f4i I've owned for 5 years. Love it but bought a buddy's Busa for cheap money to pay off his note on it. Love the Busa on the highway but thats about it. Will probably sell it this summer to help pay down my mortgage. Have had 3 bikes at one time but hated doing so much maintenance. Some day I will have a garage, then I'll be in real trouble![]()

Bikes are so specialized now that it almost makes sense to use the bikes just for the purpose they serve...sportbikes ( ridden alone ) for the twisty's and track , cruisers ( 2 up ) for the slabs and long slower rides , dirtbikes for the obvious and dual-purpose and motards for everything else...
Nice to have so many choices...![]()
