Ok, so i did a carb cleaning and new plugs on my buddies 97 suzuki RF900r.
This is carbed, and has a stupid fuel pump. I hate these setups. Well, the carbs are dry, and i can't get the fuel pump to turn on. Petcock is on.
ANY TRICKS?!?!?!
I even tried putting direct power from battery to the pump with some alligator clips and lengths of wire. There's 4 wires on it though, all combo's didnt work. Ugh.
Taking all suggestions.
dead pump?
did you try running the line from the tank to carbs directly?
bike ran a day ago, but roughly. that's why i cleaned the carbs for him.
Filling the carbs with the tank is the only thing i haven't done yet.
I'm figuring somethings not right. So before i go and try to bypass the problem, i'm thinking of something wrong w/ this.
Shouldn't the pump turn on though for a few seconds when you turn the key? Or does it not work like the Fuel injected bikes?
FIXED!!!!
i guess.
went back out, hit the starter, and it fired right up. WEIRD!
Pump was empty and cavitating. Leaving it for a while let fuel prime it naturally.
