He has several collectable sportbikes, and well over 100 bikes total. There's some pics around somewhere of his garage and home...it's all bikes!

I know a guy who has a real R7 (which he rarely rides due to its value), as well as a replica that he does ride. The replica is even more trick; built with a mix of real R7 parts and high-zoot other Yamaha parts, including a front end from a GP bike.
Of that era, I'd most desire a Honda RC30, but one of those just sold at auction for over $50K, so I'm unlikely to get one. I could buy a genuine drawing by Degas, or an excellent Rembrandt etching or two, for less than that.

Might be. The guy I know is named Mark, and his father-in-law is Sonny Angel, who was one of the longest-running bike dealerships. I bought my Duc from Sonny, back in 1993; he'd been there since he founded the dealership in 1953. Sonny retired just last year. He'll be 90 next week.

LOVE the RC45
Why didnt they make the RC51 singled sided swingarm?!?!? WHY! WHY?
Because single-sided swingarms either add weight, or reduce stiffness. In an endurance racing bike, the tradeoff of faster pitstops when changing the rear tire may make them worth it, but for a racing series where the tires are expected to last the race, there is no upside other than they look cool.
