After getting tired of using my Kawasaki OEM oil filter for a mear $12 a piece, I decided to find other sources of this filter.
At my local Autozone: Same filter WITH the gasket that the big K wants you to purchase seperatly for $3.50. Ding!
They carry quite a few. STP brand. It's worth checkin them out.
And yes, it filters just as well.

the only thing I am not sure of with some cheaper filters is the pressure relief that is built into a filter, some will open up for quite some time as the oil it heating up and pass unfiltered oil

I use cartridge type filters, not spin-on. No bypass built into the filter, just paper and metal housing.
HBerry, i think they carry most ZX bike filters. Just go and ask, they cross referenced mine.

I'd go with K/N for $12 a piece.
