Ok so the guy that I am buying this zx6r originally agreed to the price of the $3000, the day that he was supposed to bring it to my house he decided to go out on a joy ride and fell, but told me that the bike was just dropped. As you guys can see from the pictures below, thats a big load of crappp. So I was wondering how much further down i should go with the price, and how much it would cost me to change that lower fairing and the windshield, i dont care so much about the upper fairing because its minor and this is a first bike.
PS: There were no scratches at all on that side when i first saw the bike
my guess is it would be at least $1200.00 to replace this with new, stock, plastic. I'd drop the price $800.00 anyway...

I found the lower fairing online for about $210 and he said he would bring the price down $100 just for the windshield. I dont know if he will go down $800, but possibly 400 or 500. ughh i dont know what to do I need a ride for the summerr.
Drop the price by the full amount it costs to repair it, not Ebay prices.
Or, just have him fix it and then buy it for the agreed upon price after inspecting the finished product.

Ya, im trying to think it over, because i rode the bike and its fine, its just cosmetic that I have to deal with. I will try to bring the price down from what he auto body charges. Plus the fact that I would have to start from square one again looking for bikes and watch the summer fly by.
there's a seller on eBay in Hong Kong that sells full sets of plastics for about $400 plus $250 shipping. they're aftermarket, so it's a risk for exact fit. may want to check it out & get all the plastics replaced.
The guy is an asshat...
If it were me, i'd say he repairs the bike IN FULL at HIS cost and I'd buy the bike for 250 less than the agreed price. If not then I'd walk.

The problem is you don't need to be dealing with any of it. It's his damaged bike that he has to sell now. You are obviously blinded by excitement with this purchase. Whether or not the cosmetics bother you is a moot point. Eventually you will need to sell this bike and will be the one to repair it and take the hit on the sale. If it was me I would get the price dropped (the $800 sounds reasonable) and then ride the bike as is since it’s your first bike. The brake lever needs some massaging and the screen you mentioned needs to be replaced. Bottom line is you agreed to paying $3k for a bike and this is no longer the same bike that you agreed to. If you are dying to part with $3k I have a bike in mint condition I would be willing to sell.
well put.

I agree with Zero...but I would walk away personally...there are LOADS of bikes around NE (craigslist) for 3500 and under that are just as good...however, after owning a 6R I know how good they are, so yea...at the least, have him repair everything, and give him 2800 for the finished repaired product...good luck!

and watch out, cos that it totally not a "drop" as the queen of the title "newgixxerdropper"I think I would know.... but since it wasn't a drop, is obviously is a low side, in which case you have no idea what could have gotten damaged in the process.
I agree with everyone that you should take a step back, have the seller repair the damage and then re-evaluate the sale altogether.
just my .02
that happened one time when I dropped a bike... I ended up putting a rope around it and dragging it until it stood up again.
tell that dude thanks but no thanks, you can surely find another bike, maybe even one that wasn't owned by an assclown.
