Noel, hold your horses.
If you don't hook up you go up in smoke. If you hook up too hard you go over backwards. It's all in the clutch work.

Doug- I agree with you that there's a fine art to launching.
Yeah, gotta agree with Sheppo, going truely FAST in a straight line does take skill, not only do you have to master clutch control/etc for good launches, but traction and wind resistance management at speed are critical as well.
Note - I'm talking drag racing and land speed record attempts. Stop light warriors are not artists.

Bergsie, I won't STOP anyone from saying anything, I just remove/edit shit that obviously doesn't belong on the forum, usually after talking with the other mods/admins. Sure, I've made mistakes, but if we're still not cool like I thought then just shoot me a PM so we can burry the hatchet.
I don't mind, bro. You mah boy
Now if it's your own concious keeping you from saying something, then you should probably listen to it![]()

anyone ever watch the John Force, kenny bernstein, don Garlits, don Prudome, from back in the 80's and 90's interviews. it was the time when top fuel cars went from the QmT's in the 6's down to the low 5's which has now broken into the mid 3's. those guys talk about the art / feel for the vehicle moving around you like it's on a greassy road ..... the driver / rider has to be aware and able to change any given command / input - aka -variable all within 3.7 seconds
