Do I need a new rear tire?

Since I started riding, I've gone by the tire wear indicator method of waiting until the cords are showing. In other words, I have no idea how to tell if this Pirelli Angel ST is worn without cords showing. There is a pretty obvious flat spot showing, but tread is still decent in the middle.

Do I need to replace this tire yet?

this is for street riding, no way I'd throw money in a bon fire by getting rid of that

I agree. It won't turn in sharply, but for the street I'd keep it for a long time to come.

for future reference there are "wear bars" in the tread that will show when the tire gets down to the legal limit of 2/32s. if you dont know where they are there are usually little triangles on the sidewall indicating that there is a "wear bar" located in that area of the tire

Got a lot of life left but it will probably feel hard to turn in. I go a little while after the "hard to turn in" feel sets in. After that I tell myself to turn the pace down a bit and ride slower since I know it isn't going to "fall" into turns like I expect.

YES...you must get rid ofthat tire, and so you dont have to pay the disposal fee i will take it off your hands free of charge....yes i am just a super nice person like that

Just curious, looking at the Angels for the street bike next. What did you get for milage?

So far I'm up to roughly 6-7k miles. The Angel STs are fantastic sport touring tires.
