I am in the market for a 1pc suit that will be used for racing and TDs.
At first I thought I was just going to get the newest version of my current alpinestars which I love and has worked great for me.
The heroic crossed my mind. Went on the website and didn't like the prices at all. Not looking to spend $2000. I would like to stick around $1000. Less is better but I know a new suit will be around there.
Then I was going to go with LionHeart after Brian suggested it to me. But then I noticed that the custom suit he is wearing doesn't fit him right (lrrs pics). Also it will take a minimum of 8 weeks which I am ok with but I can get an alpinestars off the rack for $850 and delivered to my door in 5 days.
What other options do I have? Any other suggestions?
Personally, I always get an off the rack suit. They are cheaper than custom and good deals can be found on them. I have had alpinestars, rev it, axo, all have been fantastic.

Todd at Heroic is a douche anyways. Off the rack ftw.

Something tells me Savas' riding style .. um .. uses up leather.
Vanson?!
STG has some amazing prices on closeout A* suits. Put the savings into the foot peg budget.
I think it's mid season they blow out Teknic suits for half again less.
I've always liked Dainese, and lucky their off the rack stuff fits me pretty good. There's been some good deals on leftover 2013 Laguna Seca models recently. I bought the Pro Estiva from Seacoast cycle last fall for much less than your budget price, so the deals are out there. There was also a close special at cycle gear a couple months ago, not sure if that is still going on or not? A deal to good to pass up, plus I had a gift card, so I bought another Estiva Pro in white.

I bought the Dainese Crono full perf for this season. It comes in at $900 with CE armor. I have been very pleased with it so far, used it for two track days. I bought it at Seacoast.
Teknic is no longer in business so any that are out there are probably already discounted.
my suggestion is full custom Pilot. $1300, it'll fit properly the first time unlike some other custom manufacturers I've seen/heard about. you get your choice all the options you want or don't want and the design and colors you want. if you don't want full custom to your size their "off the rack" is still custom as you get your own design/colors and all your patches included.
my next suit will be another Pilot.

I'm very happy with my new Vanson suit. It fits great, isn't as heavy as I thought it would be, and is solid. I had no problems having it custom made. I got measured and put in the order in June, and five weeks later my suit was done. They have a ton of suits on the rack, so if one fits I think they're around $1300. With lettering and other options mine was about $2100.
Wow...
Sounds like you got lucky... I waited and waited and waited and it doesn't fit and wasn't the color scheme I submitted.. Promises were made and broken... Someday if I lose enought weight it might be wearable. They can lick me..
I bought an A* and like it way better..
The older I get the Faster I wuz
Savas I went back and checked the measurements that I had sent to Scott and it turns out that I had screwed up the measurements on my end and it was no fault of theirs. My suit is currently on its way back from being adjusted at my own expense. dont not get a quality suit from them because of my screw up if thats what you are worried about. they also have off the rack suits too. their leather supplier is the same tannery that supplies the leather for Dainese! still love my Lionheart suit and gloves

I didn't know it was your fault. Thanks for clarifying that.

$2100 for a suit will not happen right now. Not this year.
Wow that sucks. I had heard the horror stories, and kinda went in there expecting them to take a long time/make me unhappy. I realize I got pretty lucky. To be fair to Vanson, they were great to me. When my suit was delayed a week, they lent me a brand new off the rack suit. I promptly crashed in it. They were not concerned with their suit at all, just wanted to make sure I was happy with my new custom suit.
its suggested to have a tailor measure you for a custom suit

Not my experience at all with him. Maybe its the way I approach people. I make sure we both knew what our relationship was and who had the money and who wanted it. When I did have an issue I walked right over was very clear about what the problem was and how i wanted it handled. I did have on issue multiple times which he did try to back out of but once again I stood my ground made sure he fixed it right. I would get another suit from him.
Pretty much my experience with Vanson as well. The quality of the build is hard to match but that's it. I ordered a custom suit from them I'd say in Oct could have been in Sept. They had to red label it to me at the track in April. It got there about 40min before I was due on track. Fit good so I was lucky in that aspect. Getting something repaired by them was also next to impossible.
Look at a suit as an investment. Spend the money and get a quality suit. It will last much longer then the cheaper stuff out there.
It looks like I'll be getting the updated version of mine. Alpinestars.
Size is right. I know quality is awesome. I do my research online but also will talk with justin from adrenaline before placing an order.
