Hey guys... i have a 2007 SV650S. Does anyone have any idea how many miles i can go on a tank? I always get to about 140 ish then i fill up just because i have a fear of running out.
Please shed some light!
Thanks!

If I'm really being good I should get 160ish out of it. Yesterday I was on the blinking light until about 130, solid light shortly thereafter (06 naked)
its tough to say. my SV1K got like 170-200 (IIRC) during break in. but once that was over i get about 110-130 before the walk light comes on. but i ride like an asshole![]()
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

my '05 SV650S gets about 175 before I fill up. Usually before the light turns on, cause I am often in places where gas stops are few and far between. If I wait for the light I get over 200 if I'm just joyriding. Aggressive riding obviously gets fewer miles, and if you are heavier than me, then you will probably get slightly less as well (but probably not much unless you are significantly heavier).
EDIT to add: If you wait for the light, you can get EASILY 25 miles out of it. Plenty to get to gas.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
i usually get to almost 180 before the light starts blinking... i've actually never engaged the solid light, but i've had it around 190 before i pussed out and stopped at a gas station (kinda out in the middle of nowhere -- not a great place to test how a tank's range)
hurray, strikethrough!

Your toast over 140 mi.
O.k., I can't speak properly on the sv 650/750 under high revs. I'm thinking after 140 mi. one should get to a gas station. I remember riding on my cbr 929 at night in N.H. with the gas light going off at 120mi. I made it to a gas station ( Thank God ) at 140 mi. Hence, you better be thinking of gas after 140 mi...

my experience with the SV, you don't want to wait till the light goes solid
supozedly yer sposta have .4 gal left at that point , but only in a perfect world on a straight flat road, my experience is that at that point you begin to starve for gas in corners and even more on downhills where the gas rushes away from the fuel pickup to the front of the tank

Duct tape is like "The Force". It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

it has alight then some crazy computer estimate of how many miles left til empty pops up
my 08 R1 gets just barely 100 miles to a tank when the fuel indicator light pops on. The last time I filled it up, I was only at like 92 or something ridiculous... ohh well![]()
