You are a mad man!
Is the R1 gone?
I hope you like it better than the RSV4...
Yamaha
sure does look cool though (hopefully just a dead battery) ...

I wish it were that simple, it spins over fine, and even fires a little bit, but won't catch and stay running.
I don't like either of those options...lol The dirty Italian has been perfect to me so far, only problem with the Beta is I don't ride it enough.. haha

New house, new bike!
I say 2017 should look pretty good!

The 195 year old house is far from new.. lol No regrets with that move tho.
I picked it up in the dry, hauled it home in the dry, have not washed it yet, and had it in my living room. The dealer test rode it the day before and said it ran fine. Their response was possibly over stabilizing the fuel they put it prior to delivery...which sounds like BS to me
Yamaha
I've never heard the over stabilizing line before, lol. My theory about a crap sensor getting wet goes right out the window too. Hmm...

Considering the state of the 'gas' (varnish) I pulled out of my R6, which would run with some coaxing... I can't see a little extra stabil doing anything to the operation of the bike. You'd have to start with less than a gallon in the tank and then pour a whole industrial bottle (1/2 gal) in to keep the bike from running.
Haha, it was below freezing when I brought it home.

Sweet bike mark, easy to spot with those cool graphics. Been a few years, we need to get out for a ride(s) again this season, get you up to 400miles
good luck with the starting issues, hope you don't have to take it back. The stabilizer sounds "hoky", have you tried filling with "good" fuel or some VP race gas?![]()
Thanks John, lets go on some rides again for sure!
I haven't changed the fuel yet, I plan on doing that today after work. I did open the gas cap for a quick smell, it does not smell like pure gas.... dare I say it had a faint diesel smell...
Yamaha
Diesel? Disconnect the spark plugs and it'll run if it's diesel in there. Get great mileage too.
Didn't these engines have a bit of an issue with coils? or maybe a different electrical part associated with the ignition, crank timer maybe? Sorry you're having trouble, very nice bike.

Pretty pissed, it was in fact a mix of gas and diesel fuel. I drained the tank of a nice thick yellow colored fuel, put some new fuel in it, and after several tries, it finally stayed running and cleared out.
Against my better judgement, and knowing this dealer had a horrible reputation, I figured just get the bike and I'll never see this dealer again... what could you really screw up prior to delivery of a new bike? I was wrong.. MotoFit of Danbury lives up to their MissFit reputation...
Yamaha
That 'yellow' fuel may just be really old gas. The crap I drained out of my R6 was bright piss yellow.
Why would someone put diesel in an Aprilia sportbike tank? I was initially thinking that maybe they're using it as a preservative or corrosion protector for the fuel system, but does that even make sense?
I believe diesel degrades and gunks up faster than gas.
