I heard that it was possible to rent out the strip on a wednesday for $2000 from someone who I work with, he said his buddy did it. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this, I wasn't able to find anything about it on the website. Well anyways if it is I think we should have an NESR track day with however many people we could get I'm sure it would be really fun and a great way to meet people on the forums.
where is this track
Epping, NH

Why spend that much? Just go on a Saturday "test and tune" day. Have everybody gather in a common area and have at good time. Early in the season {late April - early May}, or later in the season {mid September} are best. The track is usually a zoo in the summer, and the higher temps sap some horsepower.
$2k isnt that much considering the fact that you would get a shitload of runs in. on a wed or fri you have to wait for all the cars to go and the the burnout contests etc. i drove by thee yesterday and the office was open, give them a call
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

good deal, i'll come them later on today maybe. yeah i figured even if we just got 20 of us a hundred dollars a piece isn't so bad depending how many runs we each get in. I don't know how long the rental would be for but i would hope for about 3-4 hours. perhaps if we organized it better the dragway may be able to give us a deal considering they may get a lot of repeat business from the members here.
how much does it normally cost for one run?
Last spring, the last time I was there, it was 18 or $19 for the evening, Wed. or Fri. You get as many runs as you can fit. Last time I was there, I think I got about 12 runs in. Not too bad. It all depends on how many show up. That's why I like spring and fall. Years ago I went up mid summer, and one night I got in only 3 runs. OK I suppose if you like to watch. Not me.
I have been a few times over the years, and on a wed or fri night even if its super busy you can get about 1 run every 45 minutes.
On the slower nights usually wed nights in late may or early june when the kiddies are still in school you can get more runs in than you would want . almost hot lapping.
For $19 you get your moneys worth.

Yes, you can definitely rent the track out.. there were a few forums that I use to be on that did it annually. They'd open it up at between $70 and $80 a car and honestly, it was always an awesome time.
You basically get unlimited runs. If you are truly trying to work your tune out or nail your technique, this is the best way. When I raced regularly one of the things that drove me nuts is if I screwed up the launch I'd immediately want to run again to get it right but if its an open Wed or Fri you probably have atleast a 45 minute wait, depending on the day.
Plus since it was generally confined to a forum or a few it was always a lot of real familiar faces and their friends, so it was always a good friendly environment.
I don't know about total price, but I seem to remember $80 per car with 80 car limit, spectators are free and most of the time it was advertised that there was no profit to be made with that since it wasn't the point.
This sounds like a good idea! Who's gonna organize it?
+ you don't have to loose valuable track time cause some kid in his daddy's turbocharged Volvo 760 won't be thare to blow his engine spewing oil all the way down the track and closing it 2 hours for cleanup
I went once on a test and tune day and got to make 3 runs all day![]()

I'd say 3 runs is about average for a test and tune, again.. depends on the night.
At least if its a private session even if someone does shut the track for 2 hrs, usually the runs go from 10 - 5 it really doesn't result in any lost runs.
Hell I remember when I went 2 years ago to a track rental I'd make a run and drive right back around and up to the lights, didn't even have to wait.
You!

I'm in, if my old gixxer is ready. Had some bad cam pitting, Pat at NEP is sending the cam out to Megacycle. It'll come back with about 6 degrees more duration. Damn straight, keep us posted.
For any racers wanting to work on there launches this would be the best way.
