that thing is really sexy
but aren't the gears really short? I test rode the 6?0cc version and 1st gear only went up to ~22mph
reminds me of a fairy tale

Had at one point or another for off-road: KX125, Four-trax 250R, 250 3wheeler, XR250, XR400
I got the same bike and use the same oil, that is some expensive oil for a bike thats going to see frequent oil changes. The bike is a blast to ride, your gonna love it.

I bought it second hand, the guy just changed the oil and he gave me 2 extra quarts. I think I am set now. Going forward I will just use 10W50 in it unless I am going to run it hard on hot summer days.
What are you running for gearing. I had a 13 on it... pulled it off yesterday and put the 15 back on it..
I was thinking of adding a 16 and 40 rear to the collection

nice bike. I think my second (someday in the next 30 years when I have the $) will be a dual sport and buy a motard kit for it. I bet those would be a blast.
there's a Husky shop 30 miles from home, and I pass through the area a lot on the bike, I'll have to stop and check them out sometime.
I really like the Aprilia SXV / RXV 550 too
Yeah, I almost went Aprilia...
Problem is much worse than Husky getting parts and service.
Also the Aprilia is much more maintenance intensive.
With Husky's they do require a bit of maintenance with adjusting the valves, however they are breeze to do (less than an hour - more like a half hour)
The more you beat em the more they need to be examined.

so I heard, maintenance intensive. I guess if you want to play with a little more power and a lighter bike (compared to a regular dual sport bike), you gotta pay the price.
Being a Suzuki fan I commented on putting a light kit on an RMZ450 and registering it and the guy at the shop asked what for, it needs to be rebuilt every 10 hours.
ah well.
I can think of a few roads I'd like to take something like that over.
As for the Aprilia, got a shop about 15 minutes down the road from here.
Very nice... I'm somewhat tempted to pick one up if the Z sells.

I put a 16 tooth sprocket on the front for more steetable riding and I have to say this is by far the most fun I have had on a bike. Still pulls up the front in 2 maybe 3rd, although I haven't tried it there yet.
Definately needs a steering damper as it handles like a Mountain bike at a 100
