Manny. You must ride Mulholland highway when you get to LA. Just google the "Rock Store".

That one seems worth doing while you are there.

the LA area is really more about twisties than anything else
-angels crest highway
-glendora mountain road
-mulholland drive (aka 'the snake') - the one everyone crashes on in rnickymouses's youtube videos
seems like Manny's trip is more about scenery and exploring the country on 2 wheels...less speed, more taking it in, so if that's the case, skip the aforementioned roads...

All riding is about twisties!! This whole trip has been awesome twisties and sweepers.....great scenery too.Originally Posted by breakdirt916
I may roll by the hot spot....but riding it fast is not in the cards for me. I did that stuff on the traffic free parts of the trip which were 98% of it. I'm going to post my route up.
I used the destination highways maps which highlights the 100-300 best roads by state. Very cool books and maps.

Moving along after crater lake which was super cool I went south in CA and spent the night in Mt Shasta. I took 5 south about 20 minutes the next morning so I could cut across to the coast - the cut across was probably the craziest road I took this trip. 1 gas station about 130 miles in and it took hours to get across given the tight twisty roads and narrow passes. This was the only picture I took.

That took me to 101 where I started south towards Napa. I rode the Avenue of Giants through Humboldts Redwood State Park which is of course super cool. The eternal tree, drive through tree etc.
Spent the night in Napa and rather than staying all day yesterday I left a day early so I could split the coast ride into 2 days. I was too tired for a 500 mile day at this point in the trip. So I headed for Monterey and the coast......[/URL

Spent the night last night in San Simeon and arrived in LA this afternoon. As I was pulling into the city the call came from the shipping company - they will be here between 8-11 tomorrow....thats all she wrote. Been gone 2 weeks now, rode 2975 miles over 9 riding days. Saw some cool stuff, good roads. Thankfully no issues or mechanical or otherwise. I feel a bit relieved to have made it after all the thinking about it planning etc.
Im looking forward to a nice weekend here to finish things off.
