Patient eagerly awaiting going under the knife.
Ohnoez, where'd all her clothes go? Nothing wrong with naked twinsOohhh yeaaaah.
Aww, she left all her clothes crumpled up in a pile on my floor... *Sigh* The parallels to prom night are uncanny!
Mmm, Veronica squirted -- either really horny, or I finished riding a naked incontinent grandmother...
Tim dons the check-up gloves and prepares to get dirty. Unfortunately she refuses to turn her head and cough...
Mostly finished, kinda sprawled. If you look really close and squint a bit, you can almost make out that she's smoking a cigarette. Oh baby.
Anyways, so yeah. Big thanks to Tim for assisting (more like heading) the brake/coolant flush adventures. Being a wrenching noobert, I was apprehensive about doing it myself. It was considerably less painful than I was expecting, although coaxing her clothes off in the first place was a fucking hassle (but isn't it always?).
Took me about 2.5hrs to get her undressed, but at least I didn't have to buy her any drinks. Actually, scratch that -- I bought her coolant, distilled water, and DOT4...
At any rate, anyone who's tentative about doing relatively minor maintenance at home, invest in a set of stands and some decent tools (or steal you brother's Snap-on set) and invite a seasoned, wrench-happy motorcycle buddy.
Tim, I owe you a case of beer and maybe some pizza. Possibly an ice cream cone tomorrow if you play your cards right ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Nice thread!
P.S. Isn't it easier to unbolt the 2 bolts that hold the nose frame to the bike frame and pull it off that way?

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
i'm not sure. all the front plastics need to be taken off, dunno if you've ever done coolant change on your 1k, but the sides of the front fairing screen the radiator cap.
i don't know if it's easier to just unbolt the entire front cluster/stays or just do it the way i did, but either way it needs to come off. the .pdf'd shop manual i have told me to do it this way so i did, and i couldn't find anyone on SVR with an SVS having posted a "pics during coolant flush" thread, despite them existing for everything else

Yea, my plastics have been off. I just did the side bolts and the 2 main bolts. I'll have to see how it stays on the frame. It may be easier that way.

Why did you have to remove the upper fairing?
I did my coolant flush in under two hours but I have yet to bleed to brakes because I'm lazy. I do have a Mighty Vac so it should be really quick and easy.
