Going to look at and hopefully purchase a big pig of a bike today. I have my truck, but something tells me getting a 720lb bike up 6ft ramps into a slightly lifted Tacoma don't work out so well, especially considering the bike doesn't run.
Does anyone have a landscape type trailer or even a cheap Harbor Freight style one that I could borrow on my way to Hanover (coming from North Central MA, Leominster area) today, then drop off tomorrow evening or even later on tonight?

Something small like 1.5? Not sure exactly but could check if its that important. I have the thing with a ball on it you could use to.

I have a 2" and a 1-7/8". The 1-7/8" is the typical size for smaller trailers. Waiting to hear back from my dad (haven't put the tow hitch on my truck yet, his has one on his truck), then I'll get back to ya.
Thanks for the help!

Ok, good to go on the truck, a plate for the trailer (i'll bring a couple zip-ties), have a 2" ball and a 1-7/8th ball.
Could you just check the ball size real quick for me? Hate to get down there and then not have it work out.
Thanks!

John, can you PM your phone number when you get a chance?
The thing towed nice, I may not want to give it back....

Did you pick up Mike's bike? He told me that he had it running. WTF. I'm guessing a dead bat.

Didn't end up taking it home.
I'm sure it would of run with some tinkering, but it needed lots more than that. It was a restoration project to be a reliable bike. That and it was in pretty rough shape cosmetically though he described it was in "great" condition. No big deal, different people have different opinions on what great is. All the rubber was needing to be replaced, rear frame was tweaked from an accident, rear luggage was damaged, instrument cluster was cracked, etc. Lesson learned, get pictures before driving 2.5 hours each way.
Good bike for someone looking for a winter project, but not a good bike for someone looking to replace some tires, do a couple things, then ride. My 750 was in the same condition when I bought it. I don't need another project like that.

Sorry dude.
I've got the same story he must have given you "It's in great shape, it is better than anything that is out there that age". First I've heard of the accident. Funny he told me he put new tires on it. Guess I'll start questioning him more now and believing him less. Maybe it was the beer that was talking.![]()

Wish I saw this earlier. I am only about 15 min from Hanover and could probably have taken a few pictures for you.
The sad part is that the guy I know led me to believe otherwise Or else I would have taken a look at it before I sent someone on a goose chase. All apologies and lesson learned.

No big deal, it was worth a trip to find out. Had it been in better shape, it would of been worth it. Can't hurt to look.
