Figured I'd get a quck fix on the way to the post office today. All this sand is a serious buzzkill! Coming up a hill, surprise left turn covered in sand. Couldn't slow down, couldn't turn. Seemed everything was in slow motion: ease on the brakes, front brake heavy, undesirable bike position, let off, ease on again back heavy, lots of oversteer, repeat.
The bright side:
Fortunately the mud in the corner slowed me down before I hit the rocks. Net damage = dirty tires. I guess you know you still got the reflexes when the ol' slow motion kicks in.
I know the feeling, just got back in myself... FINALLY got my suspension settings close to right, now for fine tuning

Let it be a wake up to us all. Glad you made out good! The roads around here were very clean until are little snow storm last friday! Now they are a mess again. Friday rain should help! Sorta wierd, motorcyclists praying for rain huh?

Sand sucks. Glad you didn't bust ass. RI was looking very beachy a few weeks ago but we haven't had any snow recently and the cages have blown it off to the side...for the most part. There are still some roads that have a nice strip down the middle...but the cruiser riders will be taking care of that for us in short order. Tomorrow's forecast - 55 and mostly sunny...UHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!![]()

The roads here still suck big time.
Coincidentally enough, I took my car down to Blockbuster and saw the street sweeper out.. Spring is officially here!!!!
I'm lucky enough that the roads to and from work are clean which is where I've been doing most of my riding. The only thing that's been worrying me in the mornings has been the ice I have to go around..

This is one of the reasons I ride a dual-sport early in the season... along with chewed-up pavement and unpredictable weather.
