Riding Boots

I am running a poll of riding footwear.

I am curious to find out what people wear to protect their feet. I hear lots on the other types of clothing such as jackets and pants and helmets, What about what we wear on our feet?

I did wear workboots (Over the ankle) I now wear Sidi Vertigos. Took a ride to get used to but I like them now.

I used to just use a touring type boot with minimal ankle protection, and I still occasionally do if I'm going to do a lot of walking, but I prefer my Sidi Vertigos. Riding in sneakers is just play uncomfortable, though when I first started riding that's what I used to wear.

Anybody ever hear of Harley riding sneakers (I saw them up at bike week a few years back)? They are like beefed up just over the ankle walking shoes with lots of rubber and big air cushined soles. They are heavy enought for me to ride to work and then I can still walk. The only Harley item in my arsenal! Bought the race boots but can't wear them to work.

I'm currently wearing work boots, but I'll be snagging some Sidi's soon.

My only current issue with a high boot is that I won't be able to wear my knee/shin guards with them.

Snap my feet off at the ankle or destroy my knees? Hmm....

What do you guys do for knee protection wearing racing boots?
