Hm wonder how theyll feel about a race bike lol

Well the question I have is the dealership I bought my GSXR from, went out of business years ago (South Shore Motorsports in Braintree). I'm wondering if Greater Boston Motorsports would do the recall work considering I didn't buy it from them?
Questions like this make me laugh...
Suzuki doesn't care what dealer you bring the bike to.
The dealer shouldn't either, since Suzuki is paying them to perform the recall.
Actually, the dealer doesn't get to pick and choose what/who's recalls to perform. They are an agent of Suzuki, and if they value their franchise, they do all presented recall work.

Mine falls under that category! Sweet! New master
That's what I was hoping for GixerJockey but at the same time I was prepping for a dealership that I didn't buy the bike from, giving me a hard time about it.
You get a letter by Suzuki with all the local certified dealers who need to honor that recall.
The qualifications n requirements are there and any dealer listed has to honor it.
Jim 9/10 they want the entire bike in. At least that's my experience.
Inserting a VIN into the electronic warranty claim is the only way that the dealership will be paid for the recall work. Those masters are not "supplied" by Suzuki, free of cost, to the dealers. They order them from the Suzuki Parts Department and are billed for them on their parts account. Once they perform the recall, the create a warranty claim on Suzuki's dealer site. Upon approval, the money for the parts and labor are credited to the dealers accound. Until they submit a claim, they paid for, and own the recall parts.

You guys do realize that this recall doesn't even exist yet, right? It won't be officially announced for a couple more weeks. And Suzuki doesn't even have part numbers for recall kits yet.
Don't go blowing up the local dealer yet. They don't even have a recall on file.

I'm hoping to just get the part and do it myself.

Got an extra one? Will they even work on a race bike?

If it has a clean vin, and no visable damage to the outside of the master, they will replace it.

Yup......let me check my inventory of parts and get back to you. But worst case I can sell the one thats on my 1K right now and is in mint condition if you want or swap that one for a new one. Either way probably better than what you gots....... Crash Stevens![]()
