First big winners: folks who took a risk on deeply-discounted 1190's with unknown future parts availability?
Interesting that their "next bike" looks like a head-to-head competitor with the HD Panamerica

I get a "Benelli Tornado Tre 900" kinda styling vibe.. and I like it

This is exciting. I've looked at Buells from time to time for decades. I have long preferred twins to fours in motorcycle engines.
Way back in 1993, the only 2-cyl sportbikes were Ducati and Buell. The Ducati was a better bike at the time, so that's what I bought. But I did look at the Buell seriously.
The Buells kept getting better, though, a little bit at a time. Much later, when Buell switched to the Rotax engines. they really hit prime-time. The 1125CR was on my shortlist as my next bike at the time (when/if my M900 Monster ever gave out). But my Monster outlasted the Buell company.
I also more recently took a look at a EBR 1190SX, and was pretty impressed.
I'm looking now toward sport-tourers, as I'm traveling more and carrying more stuff. If this new Buell incarnation can become a stable company, and they make a sport-tourer version (and this happens before I get my finances together enough to buy a Ducati 950SS), then it would definitely be on the shortlist to compare with the 950SS.

I wanted an xb12r badly. Buell went under when it was time to buy a bike and I ended up with the gsxr instead, but only because 0% financing and I liked the bloo.
I'm not going to be in a position to buy another bike for a few years.. see how things are going then I guess.
Nice to see but the company needs to be call Phoenix , Not Buell! Liked my race Buell a lot even with the issues... i do wish they would change to a Normal front brake setup though.. some of his ideas are good some not so much!
I'm glad to see this, too. Oddly, I'm glad that Eric Buell is not involved with the company this go-round. His name formed the basis for a strong brand, but I was never convinced about his ability to run the company well.
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
Sweet. Another thing to add to the list of shit I give zero fucks about.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
I don't get why some people feel the need to proclaim their disinterest in things.
If it doesn't interest you, move on to something that does.
I have no interest in sports, but I don't need to jump into every thread everywhere and tell everyone that.
I think that would be a jerk move.
If I see a thread about football, or some such, I just scroll on.
Easy.

Didn’t realize you were so sensitive about Buell’s. Sorry, I should have been more considerate of your feelings. My comment was shorthand for:
This Buell story is tired and boring. I don’t understand why there’s such a pining for An AmErIcAn SpOrT bIkE or why it matters or why there’s an insistence that Buell is the company who will be successful at it. Whatever they produce is going to be an inferior product in whatever class it competes in by literary every metric motorcycles are measured by.

It's not that I'm sensitive about Buells, particularly. I'm just tired of people who have nothing better to do than dump on everyone else.
As for the Buells, I explained why I am interested in this. I like 2-cyl sportbikes. I like several of Buell's design practices -- the mass centralization, the perimeter brakes, the steep steering angle (21 degrees) -- all had some merit, and were different from the normal run-of-the-mill. The Rotax-engined bukes were quite good, and not an inferior product at all, for several niches. A sport-touring bike of that design would be a fine machine.
You don't *have* to be an ass.

Just out of curiosity did anyonehere ever buy one of the EBR 1190 bikes? I have always heard good things about them. I regret not being in the states when they had the fire sale on them. I would have bought one i think.
cool, but whats this like a 4th time this company has tried to come back.

XB12r still gives me the stronkest of erections
there have been a bevy of them popping up on facebook at totally reasonable prices too
I've got three bikes, two jetskis, and an rx7 crammed into a small two car garage already. I don't have room for a new pressure washer. I def don't have room for another bike lol
