on Facebook. I am pretty sure it was a bad idea. I thought I could join a group of like minded people and talk about gear, bikes, destinations, adventures, etc. Maybe even an opportunity to become part of a community where I could share experiences, promote track days, products etc.
I just don't get it. I am starting to think I need to leave the group before I piss people off.
In the past two weeks they have talked about:
What kind of makeup to wear on the bike. One even went so far as to say she puts her makeup on and then sprays her face with hairspray so the makeup does not melt or smear while riding. WTF????!!!!
They have talked about which high heel boots are the cutest.
What to do with your hair and where to by the cutest headbands so you don't have helmet hair.
Essentials that are carried when riding, the common answer includes make up, hair brush, hair spray.
And every other question is about how someone's 'man' is not patient enough, kind enough, slow enough....Please save me!
But today took the cake...and I quote: "Helmets muffle and are distracting. Earbuds make you deaf to your bike and traffic.?" "What's the point of protection if can't anticipate the problem?"
Something tells me I am in the wrong group.![]()

There are very few women "riders" I hate to say it that way, and I'm very glad to know the ones I do, just talking from those I've met I guess... same thing happens with guys, they just spend 10k on a stretched swing arm and wide tire kit. There's a reason I keep my mouth shut for the most part unless I'm pretty sure riding is the same (or similar) to me as the person I'm talking to. BTW that doesn't mean track/sport/etc... just that I can have a real conversation about it and we respect that things are to each their own.
PS I put "riders" in quotes to point out they actually ride and enjoy riding. Not saying otherwise lol.

I would have never guessed that some women actually add a clear-coat layer to their makeup. If it's from a spray can, doesn't she worry about orange peeling, or drips? Does anyone powder coat?
Those are pearls of wisdom we will never, ever, get on NESR, and I thank you Jane.

People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.

Maybe they wet sand and polish.

I think we need a link to the FB group so we can judge for ourselves...
This is not gonna end well.

what the eff?
aren't women's rider forums = pics of girls posing in bikini's and stilettos & spraying each other with a hose?
If you're willing to get kicked out, go sarcastic with it. Show them how to hook up a paint sprayer to a compressor so they can clear-coat their face before each ride. Perhaps they can powder their tires different colors for uniqueness too?

Hey, my high heel boots are quite protective!

"You don’t need to tell me the horror story about your uncle’s buddy who wiped out his chopper while drag racing at some hooligan rally. That just makes me wish I were talking to your uncle’s buddy instead of you. He sounds pretty cool."

Jaynnus - here's a great opportunity for you to influence the culture of the women's group you're in. Make it into what you want it to be. If that doesn't work, find another group that's more like minded. Good luck!
