Guy on ADVrider says his dealer told him Suzuki's not releasing any 2010 street bikes.

When I checked the Suzuki website, the only 2010 models it listed were MX bikes... but www.suzukicycles.com also redirected inexplicably to the Canadian site. I just checked again and it no longer redirects, but also doesn't list any 2010 models at all. But here's the Canadian page it redirected to:
http://moto.suzuki.ca/product%20line...aspx?year=2010
Interesting. Website development errors combined with far-out rumors, or is it actually possible that Suzuki won't be selling any 2010 model year street bikes?
Discuss.

Have the 2010 bikes been "unveiled" by the other manufacturers yet? If they are doing any updates, then it's possible that they will wait until the season is over so as to not do too much harm to sales of the leftover stock (new models would further drive down prices).
Yamaha is already listing quite a few 2010 bikes. Triumph has announced several.
I suspect that Suzuki just hasn't announced 2010 models yet. I find it really hard to believe that they wouldn't sell any 2010 models. But you never know.
It's an interesting rumor, that's for sure.

Wirelessly posted (TELECA-/2.0 (BREW 3.1.5; U; EN-US; SAMSUNG; SPH-M810; Teleca/Q05A/INT) MMP/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)
Yamaha has their 2010s out. I think it would be foolish for Suzuki to not send or sell 2010s here even if they are the same as the 09s or if they are in vast numbers like in past years.Originally Posted by SV650N
I would say the rumor is slightly in accurate. While Suzuki may not be doing much for 2010 I would imagine they would at least make some small changes like have some BNG (bold new graphics) to offer and call it the 2010 line up. It doesn't cost much for a manufacturer to do this, and it helps to spark interest as well as look like they are staying in the game.
I am a snowmobiler and we are used to this, they do it all the time in that industry. Its not unusual for a manufacturer to make some small tweaks to a few sleds in an effort to address some customer feedback from the previouis model year, offer them in new colors, and thats all you get.
But on the plus side have you seen the new paint job on the 600RR!?!

Just checked with a friend who runs a shop out in indy, this is what he had to say
there are so many leftover '09 Suzuki sportbikes, that they are thinking about inporting very little for 2010...Ill keep you posted as more info arises
The story gets more interesting: was talking to the owner of my local Triumph dealership tonight, and naturally he pays attention to all the numbers (the brands he sells as well as the competition). He says Suzuki's sales were down 67% this year, so yeah, they've got a lot of unsold inventory to clear out.

My sources say the same. 2009 bikes restamped as 2010. The GSXR just got completely revamped for 2009 so really no impact there. The 600 needs a bit of a redo but for the rest of the lineup... who cares?

I think honda is in similar boat...I have heard they have tons of inventory on 09 crf

MX #505
Not bike related, but it happens elsewhere. In the U.S., there was no 98 Mazda Miata, because there was enough inventory of 97s left over. The 99 was a new generation, so the sales took off again, although not at the levels of the early years of the first gen.
The bike manufacturers have to do what they can. Maybe there can be some good deals made, eh.
yup, the site has changed since last week, the 2010 bikes were no change from the 09s, now they are gone
fwiw, the V-strom 1ks are still unchanged from 07, its been rumored for a few years that production of the 1k would end, they have stopped selling them in Europe cause they don't meet Euro emmision spec, must still have a lot of leftovers

There are new 2010 1250 bandits and 1 other. They made a sport tourer and a street fighter. So no real UJM...It was on my list.
Sanity would say models should last like 5 years with only color and fixes changed. The sportbike race was stupid for all concerned even us
