Hey Everyone,
I am looking into taking the MSF safety course and was looking for opinions on locations..I am just east of Worcester so auburn or west bolyston is the closest, but i don't care about traveling farther if it means going to a better location. anyone taken the course recently and if so how was it and where did you take it? thanks everyone!!
Sign up and pay for any available class anywhere in MA. Once you get your paperwork for the class, show up with it at the next available class at the location you prefer. There's always no-shows and you can be a replacement for one. Everybody wins since your spot just opened in the class you are scheduled for.Originally posted by T-595 Greg
At this time of year it's pretty much where ever you can get in. Classes are filling up / are full. You can check out class availability for Acton / Ayer at Ironstone Ventures and for out west at PV Riders
I was misinformed by a MA colleague who took the class last year. Sorry about that.Originally posted by T-595 Greg
yeah that's great but...
The Pioneer Valley and Ironstone sites are operated by two different companies...
Now, if you want to get into a program sooner than your scheduled class, mention that to the company you sign up with. Tell them you can take "next available on short notice". They will contact you when they have an opening. Just showing up with your paperwork won't do you any good. The Rider Coaches won't have you on their class roster, and will not have the necessary paperwork ready for you.
Yeah, that's what I do most weekends... MSF Rider Coaching, Ironstone Ventures.
In NH, it works as I described. My wife did it two years ago.
Ah yes, because the Mass MSF course, compared to the NH MSF course, trades higher cost and less flexibility of schedule for more....paperwork? Yeah, that sounds about rightOriginally posted by T-595 Greg

Well, there is the inbreeding...Originally posted by T-595 Greg
yeah.. pretty much sums up the difference between Mass & NH doesn't it?![]()
Hehe, I think it does. But I really shouldn't complain. When I wanted to take the course, the NH courses were full up, but I was able to squeeze my way into a MA course down in Brockton. Travelled a bit further, paid a bit more, but it was worth it to me at the time. If your courses were state run and subsidized like ours, I wouldn't have had that option.Originally posted by T-595 Greg

Just another example of good old New Hampshire efficiency. Keeps the headcount down at family reunions and weddingsOriginally posted by stoinkythepig
