I've wanted one for a while, but have always been afraid to pull the trigger for an Italian!
I know we have some members that have them here and I'd like to hear what you think of the bike. Most importantly any issues (if any) you've had that I should know about. One thing that bothers me most with bikes is little issues and minor problems...which are non existent with my R1 and R6. I've read little bits here and there on the bikes, and they seem sound. It'd be nice to get some first hand information from someone here.
I'm not all that fussy on new or used, though new is preferred. Also I don't want to spend $20k on a bike at this time, so the Factory is out if buying new. I really like the looks of the white, but again, the price would proabably win over on that option as well.
I'm a squid at heart, so it'll be used for posing, some sportriding, some commuting, maybe a weekend trip here and there, and maybe a trackday or 2 a season.
The big question, does anyone have one I could test ride?
My budget is a 2009 R1 with 10k miles and a 2011 R6 with 2,500 miles. I don't have to sell either of them first, but it would be nice.
Thanks

I'm going to Seacoast tomorrow afternoon, I'll try to put a deposit on one for you.
I've had mine since April. Bought it used at Seacoast and traded in my 848 for it.
So far, I've put just over 1000 miles on mine and absolutely love it. It's more comfortable than my Ducati and has gobbs more power. The seat height is tall. I mean really tall.
My .02 is don't buy the factory because honestly, the "base" r version has all the adjustability and power you will need. The aprc factory is just going for extra bling.
Parts are actually cheaper than ducati in some ways. I don't think they've had many issues with them. My tank is going to be replaced under warrant because the shape has changed slightly.
Any other questions?
Did I mention the torque on this thing is crazy? It's like riding a twin with the power of an I4.

Yup, it's changed shape slightly. It's cosmetic change in shape that's so slight you wouldn't notice unless I pointed it out to you. The PO started the warranty process before I bought it.
I browse the AF1 forum frequently and I still haven't found any major problems nor have I experienced any.
Good information, thanks for that!
You mention the seat is tall, which isn't really an issue to me. What's the longest ride you've done in one day? And how do you think you'd feel after a 350-400 mile ride in a day? How smooth is the engine at cruising RPM?
I agree on the factory, I'm not sold on the extra cost for the extra goodies it has. If new, it would just be the base model, used and it's a good deal, I may go for the factory.
I'm about 100 miles from an Aprilia dealer, so parts is somewhat of a concern...but at the same time, other than oil filters, I wouldn't plan on buying parts for it.
I may have to call Seacoast and see if the demo is still available for a test ride...and see what they have kicking around![]()

First test ride was OK, second sealed the deal. Been a long day, I'm tired and need some drinks! Huge thanks to Seacoast for working with me and getting a bike ready to role so quick. More to come on that later...

Wow, you didn't waste any time! Sweet ride. Congrats.![]()
That thing is gorgeous, we need a review! What's it like relative to the R1?
