tranporting wheels?

So what is the prefered way to transport wheels
with out breaking the bank.

I dont want to end up with bent rotors when I take quick turn
or brake hard.

thinking 2 old take offs and use them like a stacked pizzas....
What do you all do? Note I dont have an enclosed trailer so
my options are a bit more limited.

Just the wheels or is there rubber mounted on them?

If just wheels, do what you were thinking or perhaps get a wheel box or two from a place like Town Fair Tire and wrap 'em up in cardboard.

yup, I use free thrashed front take-offs as spacers and stack those babies...
