That's insane! Is new hampshire really big enough for 2 tracks? Most states don't even have one...wow...
I think it will be better then the one we have now. Safer and no bumps would make me go there before loudon any day!

I heard it's going to be very costly to run there, not to mention it's another hour north of Louden?
Can a bike only track in a seasonal enviroment survive? Maybe thats why it's going to be costly during the "in Season"! They do not have any "Big Events" scheduled for 04 yet. I wounder if all the sponcered races will eventually move there?

Wow, did you guys see how much membership costs? Big upfront investment plus pretty high monthly dues. Looks like a good course, though. I'd certainly be interested in attending a track day there.
Also, I don't think it is a bike-only track. Cars are mentioned a few times on that site.
EDIT: the site repeatedly mentions the track being for motorcycles but then if you scroll down through the membership page it starts talking about driving cars, having a passenger in your car, etc.

Corse-Moto is the motorcycle section of the new track in NH, but the track is for wealthy sportscar owners and corporate membership primarily.
Earlier this year Jay and I had some talks with one of the people involved with building the track about trackdays and a race school there and we had a good dialog going but things have fizzled out now.
I am led to believe that they will have their own motorcycle racing club there (not AMA sanctioned) just like LRRS, we will see.
..oh, and the track is not even strated on construction yet.
derek
It doesn't look like the track will be open until 2005 anyways.
This is going to give Loudon some serious competition, to which I hope it doesn't shut it down...

Well if it is a real nice track maybe we can get AMA racing there again. Given the fact that attendance had always been very good at Loudon I would think it a possibility.

???
Attendance sucked at Loudon. The AMA races should have filled that place. I would guess less than 5000 at the last AMA races.

From what I can see, the new track has a very different mission than NHIS.
Check out the new track layout and list of amenities. It is definately geared for the posh, big money crowd. Clearly a country club approach. Notice the lack of any spectator seating. They are marketing to guy who has a collector vehicle and wants a safe place to play on the weekends when he is not on his yacht or flying his jet to Aruba.
I don't think you'll see a bunch of gearheads there with a $2k race bike and a roll of duct tape for repairs. I also doubt they plan to attempt a big series (such as AMA) because they don't appear to be set up for a large crowd. (no significant restrooms, parking, stands, access roads, etc). Then again, it's all in the planning stages right now, so it could all change before construction begins...
I hope they make a go of it. When I win the lottery, I'll be one of their key clients...![]()
If they brought WSB to the new track, I think that would pack it!!![]()
Don't hold your collective breath on this. Can't say much, other than this is highly likely to NOT happen at this point. I don't have 'inside info' per se, but this is seeming more & more like a fantasy...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

Well if it was'nt a bizzillion $ to get in, maybe more would go.....I would guess less than 5000 at the last AMA races.
I'm not too sure about this whole weekend Race pass thing they do.... Sure turned me off this year! Never even went. I know I can't spend 3 days at the track.
Same with the LRRS although $20 is a bit easier to swallow here and there.

Something I've read/heard about summa the financial backers of this project for starters. The other being, how many people want a race track in their back yard? I sincerely HOPE it would happen, but honestly doubt it will...Originally posted by Green Hornet

I have 1 problem with this new track. It's 4 hours from my house !!!!!!!! Why don't they just build it in Canada. Are most tracks in the US in the middle of no where? or just in New England.
Like someone said before......why the fook would anyone build a track like that in a place that's two hours from civilization -- and where you can only ride 6 months out the year!
I wouldn't be investing in that project....
The reason for choosing that location is simple...the land is available. It's the old Mt. Whittier recreation area I believe. Where in Boston are you going to find 300+ acres of land to build a race track? A race track will never be able to compete with a real estate developer for a large block of land. Developers can make way too much money putting up spec houses for all you flat landers...![]()
Here's an article from the local paper about the track:
http://www4.fosters.com/News2003/Sep...s/nh_0907a.asp
I haven't even checked out the site yet, but I'm witht the guys who wish it were going to be closer to civilization. I know that real estated developers want houses, yada, yadda, yadda, BUT if there were a track in,say, the Worcester area, that most of the people who go to Louden could gett o in HALF AN HOUR instead of two hours+, they might get a whole bunch of use off it. WallMart makes a few dollars selling a lot of stuff at a cheep price. Open practices durring weekdays, corporate outings, club racing on weekends. It could be state of the art with room of sports carrs, bikes, go-carts, dirt track, moto-x, super-moto. I have never been to Louden because of the time/distance/money involved. I rarely can spend all three on the same week end.
Also, unless I am mistaken, the safety isues at Louden were the big reason that AMA pulled out of there. A new, safe track in the area just might see a return of National or even, yes, WSB or GP racing to the area! I'm gonna pee myself!
Once again, I don't know shit from shineola, but that's my .02 on this subject.

The reason that most tracks are a ways away from Civilization is the pure fact on this "NOISE".
Also land value. Around here land is like 5 to 20 g' an acre... In Masswipechushit its like at 50 to 100g.
Im sure the city of Daytona gets its complaints...... but 50 years ago Daytona was nothing.... The track and racing made Daytona.
What other race track is near anything.

They're not looking to get big name racing up there. Their target is the upper class high end sports car owner and/or motorcycle enthusiast. They MAY be interested in starting some kinda club racing in the future, but they say they'll be very careful to distance themselves from anything NHIS does...
They're proposing it where they are 'cuz land and taxes and labor is cheap up here. And there's been a HUGE push up that way to get more business going on. The whole Tamworth/Ossippee area was devistated in the 80's when economic development ceased up there...
BUT, I still don't think this'll actually happen. Great marketing so far, great PR. But I just don't think it's gonna go through like some think it will...
