Your not comparing the same spark plug. I had the same thing happen to me when I was looking for a plug for my rm125. The dealer gave me two options, $32 "race plug" or a $8 cheapy. I gave him a 8 dollars and was on my way. Use the microfisches or forums to figure out the correct plug number and tell the shop you need xyz plug.
But having worked in a small motorcycle shop here in San Francisco where there are 10 shops here in a 3 block radius, the level of service I see is what keeps people coming back. You just cant get the little bits of information that you get from a real person. And the people that bitch about online prices etc, well if you went to your local shops, you'll be surprised at how many specials they run all season to stay competitive. Support your local vendors!

Try this link to see all the Vapor products we can get. I do not keep these in Watertown, but can usually have it in a day. Pick your products and pm me a part number.
I buy local 99% of the time. Last week it was new tires at seacoast... Week before that it was new front/rear pads , oil/filter from eastern cycle. And today I was back at seacoast for a new rf1100. I traded in a very old lid and got $100 off a new one. No one on line could beat that.
