28" inseam on a stock DRZ400SM. Whodunit? Thoughts?

I'm 5'8". I used to ride the crap outta a tard, and I certainly ride the boogers out of dirty bikes with even bigger wheels.
Don't be afraid, come on in, the water's fine.

Tip-toe off to one side at a light?

Yeah, don't worry about it.
Just like Chip I'm 5'8" on a good day, wear 30 inch length pants, and have not fallen off my motard on the grid due to height. I also ride a full size dirtbike while getting dirty.
Plus, even if you do fall over you just pick it back up, its a dirtbike.
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
Shhhhhh:

As long as you're comfortable scooting off to one side and planting a foot, you'll be fine. No different than riding anything else with a 28" inseam, honestly. You have to plan where you're stopping a little bit more than someone who can flat foot off both sides. I rode my KTM450EXC around on dual sport rides and occasionally on the road with no problems, and if Jay is 5'8", I must be 4'11"

I love my DRZ. Do it!
2006 DRZ400SM
I really want to try one of those DRZs one of these days. I know they aren't race-track competitive or anything like that. But they sure look/sound like fun.
More and more I realize a light-ish play toy like that would really fill out my garage nicely...![]()
closest I ever rode to a real tard was an XR650, tarded out. I couldn't even get toes down with my other knee on the seat. I was praying on pit out "don't make me stop, don't make me stop"

I'd love to try out a KTM or Husky, something with more power, but I really do think the DRZ is perfect for a daily cruiser/toy. It's low on power, but I'm light so it has no issue getting up and going. Throwing it around corners is a blast, and honestly, as much as I love my 636, I've never had as much fun with it on the road as I have with the DRZ. 636 is fun when going fast. DRZ is just fun all the time.

I love bikes like that. Super sports are neat and all, but too damned much in almost every respect for the kind of riding I do.
I will forever wonder if a tame 'tard would not have been a better track day toy for me than the SV I just bought. But the SV was cheaper and probably more bulletproof.
On the street, I also have a soft spot for "mechanical" bikes that aren't very fast. My friend describes them as "agricultural". I may very well end up on a Harley one of these days.
Buy the drz before the Harley, please.

Will do..
Once your feet are on the pegs it don't matter. Dooooo Ittt!
Stay tuned...
One funny thing is I don't think anyone here really appreciates what I mean by short. 5' 4". Straight short homies. I think CBR929RE may even have an inch on me.
