I know if we all start posting people's comments like this one NESR would burst at the seams, but this kid just pisses me off
my replyjust started riding about 7 months ago on the 04 636r but i knew what my limits were. i now have the lime green 05 636r and love it, totally better bike, but to answer some questions i think you should ride the bike how you would ride on any give day (hard or easy) i feel that way because it has a warranty so if something goes wrong with it its covered. as far as shifting you shouldn't have to skip any gears on it and if you feel like you have to take it to the shop. i love my bike to death, but the only thing that sucks (beside the windshield during the day cant see tach) is the KAWASAKI ENGINE NOISE is kinda like a wining sound.
his reply.... you just started riding 7 months ago... started on an '04 and now have an '05???? .... that's disgusting.
and what happened to the '04?
i hate that kid.... there's so much wrong w/ the things he's saying in my eyes.i knew i was going to get rid of it, i bought my 04 about 2 weeks before the 05 came out on line. so i had to start doubbling up my payments because i was going to trade it in so i did just that. and now its like night and day between the 04 and 05 in my eyes.
when he said "you should ride the bike how you would ride on any give day (hard or easy)" he's talkin about the Engine Break In Period..... figures if he fucks somethin up, HEY the dealer can pay for his fuck-up & help drive the MSRP up on every other fucking motorcycle on the market.
so am i jealous of his bike? FUCK RIGHT i'm jealous of his bike. but i know that the one i have is plenty for me as it is, and it's got alot less potential than his big bad '05
i dunno... i just had to share & vent... newbies getting brand new bikes that are 10 times what they'll ever need just pisses me off & fucks up my world making it more expensive for me![]()

Tell him the Kawi motor isn't the only thing making a whining noise.

I doubt he's rich. Sounds like the kid financed both the bikes. He probably lost a good deal of value on the '04 when he traded it in and is now up to his eyeballs in debt on the '05 which is worth probably about half of the 14k he has outstanding on the whole shebang.
Not how I'd personally care to spend my money, but jealous? Nah. Financing our toys is the american way, but it's not for me.
hey pete F U my first bike was a brandy new 01 SV650S
Pete dude, I think you need to relax, you seem really stressed or touchy lately. It's ok, the riding season is upon us which means therapy is on the way. Say it with me, SERENITY NOW!
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I hate a lot of people too. But I try not to let that affect my normal, everyday life. I just take it as comedy. I'm sure I wouldn't want to sit down and have a beer with that kid, but that doesn't make him a bad person. It just means he's inferior to me.
Support the Troops! (Except for Mondo, that guy's a dick)

Hah, i think you're right Jay.... i need some poonanibut i'm not gettin as worked up as i probably made it seem... i shouldn't say i HATE him.... he just irritates me enough to bitch a little
Clayton, i'm 25... i wasn't really brought up w/ a silver spoon in my mouth, but have always known how fortunate i was/am and don't abuse it.... nor do i buy shit i can't pay off right then & there (unless it's like 5, 10g's or more). that's why it took me 3 years to get a bike from the time i got my M/C license, but hey, the thing was 100% paid off before i even started the engine & put the plate on it![]()

jk man, but u know the new '04 636 is a far cry from an SV, and the '05 even more so.
just drives me up the wall when kids can and do throw money out the window like that... If i wanted to go buy an '05 636 right now i could do it tomorrow... but i'm not cuz i know my money is better spent elsewhere (track days & hookers)

I might put money on it but I flogged my sv to the point I was probaly riding it to 80% so fuck him and his 05 636rrrrrrrrrrr I just kick his ass and push the bike over![]()
I bought my SV from a guy who put 1500 miles on it. The motor wasn't barely broken in, the rear tire looked like it was new.
He bought it because to paraphrase - "I knew I wanted a Road Star Warrior but wasn't ready for it since I never rode before, so I got this SV as an interim bike".
You could tell this dude had papers but I mean really, that seems a bit over the top to buy a new bike, ride for 1500 miles, then dump it at 25% loss.
Someone told me "its better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow", and that said I think the 636 newbie doens't know what he's missing.

I'm pretty sure you'll hate me too in ~10 years![]()
I love my bike, and wrenching on every inch of it is as equally satisfying as it is to ride it.
But 10 years down the road, I don't see myself doing any work on it. I'll buy the newest bike, ride the uric acid out of it, for a year or two, pay the dealership to do all the servicing, then dump it for the newest one.
the difference is you won't have just 7 months of riding experience, trade it in after TWO WEEKS & say "oh this one is SO much better than last years:![]()

Exactly...to be able to 'savor' something for any period of time you need to be able to appreciate it, which implies you have to skills or experience to do soOriginally posted by OreoGaborio

My guy was just a bit weird b/c he bought a brand new bike to ride on as training wheels until he could get his Warrior. Its not that he had money but he should have done a new GS500 IMHO.
Other than the $$$ required, it would probably be fun to try a new bike or 3 every few years, and keep the ones that stand out in the long-term fleetI think that's the idea behind being a collector (who actually uses what they are collecting)...
