Your right not everyone makes the perfect decision and you just make a bad one! Switching from CBR to gixxer, your sick!
Your first chioce of the CBR was the best choice you made.:

That is an awesome bike! Great choice!
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Ok guys if all goes as planned she should be ready for the road late this afternoon. Anyone interested in going riding? I'll have to go slow due to the breakin period.
The only thing you need to break in is the tires. With the precision machining they do now, breakins are really a thing of the past. I've heard some places that riding it easy is actually counter productive as it doesn't seat stuff as well. My current engine got broken in straight at the racetrack, We used it for the team endurance event with 200 miles on the engine. The biggest reason to feel it out is to make sure everything is put together right. Just my stance on it.

i agree, just change the oil after a few hundred miles. i've never broken in a motor to manufactures specifications and i've never had a problem. but thats me![]()
Get 2 filters at least change the oil when you get home
Read motoman be a believer or leave a few hp's behind.

I don't get passed by many CBRs.![]()
good choice, break-in with manuf. specs, change oil 2x, then rail on it.

I know one that's made it past you on the gas. Maybe you forgot to turn on that extra 150CC's coming out of 4?![]()

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! Bike is totally different from my honda!!! I was pretty impressed with how the stock exhaust sounds on my bike. Unlike the 600's, when you twist the throttle, the power is RIGHT there!!!!
Now I g/g get new matching gear so I can be a Star on my GSXR like Punjistick!!
My coworker said the same thing about breakins. They are the thing of the past because the machining process has become extremely precise.
Was it normal that I rode it home with a grin ear to ear?!?!?!?!?!?

Yes it is. You're right about the power. Any gear, any speed, you just crack the throttle a bit and away you go. Much different from my old 600 where I'd have to drop 1, 2, sometimes 3 gears to make a pass in time. Plus the radial brakes are nice. Although I am already looking at braided lines.Originally posted by BadBoyBilly
